Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyToo many people… not the style I like to spend my vacation, but a nice experience though.
Super interesting to see and feel an all inclusive vacation package in Japanese style. Not a lot of foreigners, massive and impressive dinner/breakfast hall.

United StatesThe hotel is very spacious so to use the good onsen from the ocean wing you have to walk about a quarter of a mile (.40 KM). We didn't care to have walk so far. Apparently this is a very popular hotel so onsen could be croweded. It was when we went. The food was average, only the fish croquettes and almond float I through was exceptional. No stores around the hotel so you can't just walk outside and sight see. The shower curtains had mold on it. The bed was pretty hard-not so comfortable. The facility is old and could use updating. It's like I went to a chinese hotel, not the standard high quality of Japanese. I can imagine that this hotel during it's hay day was a very beautiful hotel.
The room was spacious and had a good view of the bay. The wrap around lobby balcony has a breath taking view. A good photo op. The staff was very nice and check in and check out was very quick. They are very efficient and friendly.

United KingdomThey could have explained that the water service is delivered by an empty plastic bottle in the room filled by a machine in the hall. Many guests (including me) had trouble dispensing the water, so better explanation of how would have been good (hold full palm about 3 inches in front of the sensor button). Also they explained at the front desk that the massage was done in your room which was incorrect (thankfully). There is a special massage centre set up with special massage tables and partitioned for privacy. Most of the guests were older Japanese women and men.
The meal experience was truly amazing and also somewhat unusual. It was in a huge ballroom with hundreds of guests served buffet style. Guests are encouraged to wear the uniforms (pajama type tops and trousers) so the scene was like a socialist banquet. The quality of the food was truly exceptional, however. The best thing about the hotel was the massage service which was one of the best massages I have ever had (from Morita-san). The view from my room overlooking the ocean was fabulous. The outdoor onsen overlooking the see was even better (in the other wing).

AustraliaWe thought it a bit strange that people wore pjs and slippers to the restaurant. We were disappointed that there wasn’t an onsen for visitors preferring to wear swimsuits. The beds and pillows were also a bit hard for us.
We loved the ocean view from our very spacious room. We also enjoyed the variety of foods at breakfast and dinner; and the shuttle bus service from the station!

JapanThe dinner is a Japanese course ,but wasn’t able to eat it all. Some menus were first time in my taste but there’s tempuras which I did like most.
The hotel lobby was painted white that looks clean & neat and the smell was really good …like a fragrance of a flower that really attracted my attention.I paid ¥1,000 for the parking fee but it’s ok.parking was very near to the hotel. The breakfast was served with healthy foods( Japanese )good for the people who have high chloresterol and avoiding fattyfoods.I like the fried fish they served and the umeboshi & vegetable salad. You can also bring a free coffee ☕️ in your room. There’s a free paper cups w/ a cover to prevent fr.spilling, sugar& creamer readied in the front of the restaurant. Fr.my room ,I can view the beach & the beautiful sunrise. The space of the room was very large nor the bed.The floor that I’m staying is very quiet ,you can’t hear any noise outside. The amenities are great ,shampoos, conditioner, body soap ,face milk lotion are fr. POLA brand. There’s a bottle for free water in my room but you have to fill it by going to a certain room ( same floor)where the Refill Water was installed.Got water twice for my children cup noodles& drinking water. I experienced to bath in their 7 onsen. There are complete in amenities too.It was fun . I recommend this place ,if you really want to enjoy your travel .Better to get a plan w/ Breakfast& Dinner coz there’s no convenient store nor restaurant outside the hotel. But if you really want to save you can bring snacks or cup noodles.

ChinaThe only thing that can be improved is the hygiene of the room. I found a few hair on the tatami, and the floor is generally clean but not as clean as I expected.
The hotel sits on the side of the hill and fully utilize the advantages of the terrain which makes it a unique place for fun and relaxing. Its onsen also are very good. I did not get a chance to taste their food but it's only 15 minutes walk to downtown where you can find many restaurants. The hotel also provide shuttle bus to metro station.

RussiaI was staying in the Horizon Wing. It was impossible to regulate the room temperature, because of a general climate control system in this hotel, and it was terribly hot at night. I could not sleep well because of that. Also, because the hotel itself is quite spacious, prepare to walk a lot inside. I`ve got a bit tired because of that.
The view from the room window was just fabulous! That is mostly why it is worth stying in this hotel for me. We had a very pleasant walk down to the roof garden. The hotel was renovated recently, and the room furnish and design were new and neat.

China- The room’s small and old. Remodeling is required. - We booked a sea-view room at higher rate. However, we got a side sea-view room at 3rd floor, which was damp with a worn, puddle veranda
