Food was a little too rich and oily esp for western foods- should have more traditional Japanese cuisine

Location close to Heda town and beach - bike rental was outstanding so we can explore the area- orange grove was a wonderful surprise - the oranges are very sweet- making tea and drinks available is also good

Would have liked to try their dinner, but no spaces available when we arrived (our fault, not theirs, for us not making an advanced reservation). We were there in the off season and be aware that restaurants in town close early.

We just had a brief, one night stay. Would definitely want to stay longer the next time. Very modern decor, ample snacks and drinks set out for our consumption. Had a system of "take what you need" for robes, etc. Very nice and efficient way to provide what is needed, without excess. Breakfast was simple, but healthy and delicious. Bikes for let (free) were nice to visit town and coast as the hotel is a bit of a walk away from the waterfront.

Mussel substituted for shrimp in one of the meals, unfortunately really tough to eat, hard to cut and basically tasteless.

Third time to stay here, this time with the full dinner package. Great selection of local dishes, with explanations about them. Desserts and drinks are now self-service. Yoga and onsen were comfortable. Really liked the lobby area, with library, drinks and snacks for most of the day. Staff were as helpful as ever. Used the hotel as a base for 3 days of walking and trekking to the beach, museums, 400 year old rice terraces, local temples and Mt. KinKan. Each time we discover something new about the Heda and Nishi-Izu area. A very relaxing, quiet environment, no waiters or staff shouting, no digital signage blaring away, you can just switch off and enjoy the place, and being taken care of. Looking forwad to our next stay.

Second time to visit - this time without the dinner option due to a mix-up with booking.com, but the staff helped us find alternatives. Comfy room, unique lobby area with drinks and snacks, books to read, and plenty of chairs. Enjoyed the private onsen, and the yoga room, with nautical influence. Breakfast was adequate, with extra toast available on request. Drove down to Odoi down the coast, for the beach and sun, just 20 minutes away.

Breakfast needs more variety for guests staying more than one night. Parking lot needs maintenance.

All inclusive. Excellent value. Quality food and beverages. Clean property. Public and private open air baths. Ample parking. Property offers calligraphy courses, yoga classes, and use of rental bicycles.

This 22-room property rocks! I love the local flavors and connections! Close to a fabulous (but not crowded) beach. Onsen is perfect and I like the bath on the balcony.

The onsen room is a bit small as only two people can use the dryer. The view from the room is so-so

The hotel was amazing, I really enjoyed staying there. I especially loved the drink bar and I discovered so much about food fermentation. Books were interesting too. Lassi, fruity amazake and even breakfast food & dressing were really cared about.

Amazing stay, with incredible food and drinks. Good access and parking, Hi-Speed wifi, comfortable, quiet and relaxing lobby with open bar. 7-course dinner with a wide range of local foods, beautifully served and presented; and a good breakfast to start the day. Helpful and knowledgeable staff; informal and relaxed setting. Both public and private baths available. Yoga and calligraphy rooms to exercise your mind and body. Wide selection of books in the lobby, along with a wider range of local drinks, and even cold draught beer.

Not one of the easier towns to get to in Izu. But if you are already planning to explore the peninsular, then it doesnt really matter.

Clean, spacious, modern decor, peaceful and comfortable. Dinner and breakfast was really good! Liked their farm to table concept with elements of fermatation. They also had a complimentaty free flow bar with an excellant variety of drinks. A good Ryokan to getaway from it all and recharge!

No a la carte foods at any time which given that Heda shuts at 5pm is a problem for dinner.

Free drinks and nibbles after 8pm. Breakfast excellent. Room superb although a higher standing desk/table would be good.

Great Japanese style hotel. The garden, the lobby, the onsen and the room give the perfect modern Japanese feeling. Everything was perfectly clean. They provided everything one could forget or wish for.

+ Theme of fermentation & health was very well integrated throughout the property + Modern hotel design with a lounge designed to gather guests together + Open bar at the reception with fruit vinegars. Grape lassi is a must try + Spacious well designed room with private bath & high ceilings + Best dinner of our entire trip with local specialties & keeping in the theme of fermentation + Onsen was both indoors and outdoors & could be reserved since there were few guests + Delicious curry for supper We’ll definitely be back!

Breakfast was very tasty and good variety of food. The ease of using spa baths was great - and private! Bicycles to use for free was great to explore Heda. The resort was very peaceful and relaxing. The staff was excellent!

Lovely onsen. Beautiful traditional rooms. Excellent amenities, beer on tap, snacks, coffees etc 24/7. Garden was nice…. but could be really stunning. Easy to get there with public transport!

The hotel is very clean and staffs are very helpful and friendly especially Mr. Fujitsu he is very kind to help us reschedule our dinner time as we arrived the hotel late due to flight delayed. Dinner was very nice and we all enjoyed the dinner there.
