Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNo joke zero complaints.
This was the star of our trip, I've never met such kind people, the host wanted to show us the town, gave us a better dinner idea and drove us there and then to a bar, and bought us multiple drinks, the kindest souls alive, he even helped us find a better train so we could sleep in a whole extra hour. He gave us a free room upgrade because we were tall dudes. Amazing experience I'll never forget. And you get free bikes to ride alone the coast

CanadaWe loved our stay at B&B Mikawa. Definitely a highlight of our trip to Japan! The B&B provided breakfast with delicious coffee, free entry to a local onsen, there were bikes available to borrow and Netflix was available. Our beautiful Japanese style room had everything we needed (including air conditioning) it was very clean and comfortable and had new furnishings. Our wonderful hosts were English speaking and they made it very easy for English travellers. Our hosts kindly let us use their washing machine and upgraded our room for free. They shared their local knowledge and introduced us to local restaurants and local food adventures. It was a very authentic experience and our hosts made us feel like we were family. The location gave us the opportunity to live within a traditional Japanese neighbourhood and the B&B is walking distance to beautiful sand beaches, a temple and it was very close to the Mikawa train station.

NetherlandsWe really enjoyed our stay at B&B Mikawa! We received a warm welcome by the hosts, who also helped us out with our bus reservation for the next day and drove us to a nice restaurant and wine bar in the evening. The room was pretty and neat. And Kanazawa is just a 20-minute train ride away. We would definitely recommend this place! Thanks again!

AustraliaI'm the room I choose there is a window up high that did not have a curtain to pull across, so if u wake up easily with the sun you will not be able to sleep in.
Great separate rooms, modern everything u need. Staff are great, Annie is very helpful. If you go book a fishing trip if you can, takes less the half a day and the fish u catch they will organise a place for it to be made cooked / sashimi etc which is great

Great property - our room was very spacious and comfortable with traditional Japanese elements that made it special. Sasa and Annie our hosts were fantastic and really looked after us - it was raining when we arrived and they picked us up from the station and took us to a wonderful local restaurant where we had a fabulous night. Mikawa is about 20 km out of Kanazawa but train station is close and it was lovely to be out of the busy tourist areas. Thank you Sasa and Annie for a wonderful stay.

United StatesMikawa is not particularly convenient to other activities in the Kanazawa area. We chose a more rural area on purpose but it did turn out to take a little longer than we expected to go to other places largely because of fewer trains stopping at the Mikawa station. The beach was disappointing. It is covered with garbage that has washed ashore. We saw containers with Russian, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese on the labels. It made us sad.
The hosts were wonderful! Sasa and Annie were so helpful and kind. The room was comfortable and clean. We enjoyed a refreshing bike ride using their bikes. The location is quiet. It is close to the train station. Overall, we would stay there again because of the hospitality.

ItalyDespite the name contains the word Kanazawa and is described as it was located in Kanazawa, this hotel is located 20 mins train ride from the central town and the closest station is 5 mins on foot from the accomodation site. The instructions require you to check in at Mikawa train station and after that you don't get accompanied to the structure by the owner. As we were the only guests on that day, we personally felt quite lonely and missed the lack of human interaction. Although we eventually liked the stay, if I'd go back to Kanazawa I would choose something more central, especially if like us, only have one day to visit the city.
Our apartment (villa) was cozy and clean. Mikawa is a a little non touristic village close to the sea, 20 min train ride from Kanazawa. The neighborhood felt very safe. Simple breakfast was made available in the shared kitchen, which was appreciated.
