How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Road to carpark was a little complicated. I wish there was more instructions available but my bad for not asking before i physically arrived. Overall a wonderful stay

It is a new hotel and facilities were excellent including a sauna facility on the twelfth floor. Location in Chinatown district was great and on easy tram route to railway JR railway station. Excellent breakfast which is unusual in Japan but at a price 2000Yen .It was worth it .

Nothing. It was excellent- except maybe the parking. It was a bit confusing . There are two external parking lots they have a deal with - to limit the parking to 12000y a day. However that is only if you enter after 1500hrs. The parking lots each also operate a bit differently . We ended up paying quite a bit more because we had to take our car out once during our 3 day stay and also because we arrived and parked before 1500 hrs . Just something to factor in :)

Candeo is known for its rooftop onsens and that's clearly the reason why I chose this hotel in the first place. Location is good though, the room was large and the price very good.

Being a bit picky but they could have done with some fruit at breakfast. Difficult to find restaurants for dinner near the hotel unless you book.
Loved the open air bath. Views from the King rooms over the city are wonderful. Rooms are very comfortable. Breakfast buffet (mostly Japanese style) was good with different things each day. Well located for sightseeing.

Had a bit of an issue at breakfast which was poorly organised, but the manager stepped in immediately and fixed it professionally.

It was very clean and comfortable. I enjoyed the views to the mountains from my 10th floor room. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was very well located and the tram was very nearby to all the main sights. There was a very useful laundry room.

Honestly, I couldn't fault them on anything.
Certainly one of the best stays I have ever had in Japan, possibly even in the world. Very conveniently located, only a short bus/tram ride from the major station and right in Chinatown, with lots of restaurants, bars and attractions within walking distance. The hotel was stunning, very well decorated and modern and there was a viewing deck from the lobby with an amazing panorama of the city. The staff went above and beyond, extremely smooth check-in, they kept my bags until check in time and then they even upgraded me to a king size room. The room was impeccable, spacious, with a nice sofa and free water bottles, amenities and lounge wear to use in the hotel. Very big, comfy bed, convenient charging points next to the bed and light controls. The bathing area was the reason I booked this hotel and it did not disappoint. Big bath inside and outside and the sunset and sunrise views were breathtaking.

Room is a bit small for family of four. Hotel doesn’t have its own carpark, u have to find the entrance of the carpark in front of the hotel.
Location is fantastic. Right in the middle of Chinatown. Food options are plenty. We had the best yakiniku there.
