Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe Hollywood room is not suitable for a family of four and should not be offered for this situation. We had to fit in two single beds with our 9 and 11 year old children. Also there was barely enough room to move around our luggage and no storage for clothing apart from one hook on the wall with a few hangers provided which could not even hold our four coats.
Close to transport and the room was clean.

United StatesThe room they gave me at checkin was unlock/wide open with a towel under the door when I went upstairs (see pic). I was confused and didn't feel safe to enter the room. I called the staff up the stairs and they told me that was for fresh air/air circulation. Understandable but I didn't feel safe so I asked for a room change. However the second room has a weird smell. I do not understand why they had to give me that room if it is not ready in the first place. The hotel is near a train station which is really good. But in order to walk to the station, you have to pass a small street with what seems like love hotels? Those hotels have R-rated pictures/ad on them. And one night while walking on those streets, there were a group of drunk guys who were throwing up on the street and laughing. I'd recommend taking a detour and avoiding those hotels (those hotels are right next to the station, so to avoid it you might have to walk a few more minutes than what google maps tell you)

AustraliaDisappointing. Tired and dated. Does not look like the photos. Carpet and furniture looks like it has not been updated for 20 years. Carpet is stained throughout. I have never seen such shabby carpet in a hotel! Ordinary bed sheets, thin towels. You can get much better for your money!

United StatesThe room had a foul smell every time we walked in during our stay. The first day we arrived I tried to open a window and a spider fell down from the curtain. The toilet was loud and flushed for minutes at a time wasting so much water. The sides of the bathtub had mold all over them. Booking.com said that breakfast is included with a fee, but when we arrived we were told it wasn’t an option. We didn’t contest it and didn’t have a problem eating elsewhere but disappointing to learn. The entrance was on the first floor but the lobby was on the second floor. We were on the tenth floor so we always used the elevator to get down to the entrance, but the elevator always defaulted to stop at the second floor even if you didn’t choose it. Not a big deal but becomes annoying for that to happen every single day when you are trying to go up or down from your room.
Hotel was close to the station so public transportation was easy when traveling to different cities. The price was affordable compared to the larger cities.

United StatesThe pillows were not very comfortable but I managed.
Overall the room was very clean and spacious. I stayed in a room with a queen bed and it was a decent amount of room for two people. Staff provided clean towels everyday. The location was nice with many places nearby to eat and close to convenient stores. The hotel was also a walkable distance to the Uguisudani train station where I could access the Yamanote line. I’d probably stay here again next time I’m in Tokyo. The breakfast was also good and had a variety of choices.

United KingdomWe don't have any compains this hotel! Much better than hotels in Ginza area. The only thing I didn't understand that we couldn't pay separately by card. It's not the big issue though... Anyhow it was great hotel.
It is a very interesting experience to reach this hotel! We passed through the area of the famous "Japanese love hotels" in JR Uguisudani St. The hotel itself is very cozy, roomy enough. Remarcablly good brearfast!!! Highly recommended.

United KingdomThe rooms and bathrooms were very tired looking and some of the sockets didn't work properly. Beds were not that comfortable. You had to step up into the bathroom so not great if you have any movement issues. Could do with renovation.
The staff were very accommodating and moved us to another room as there was a significant noise coming from some pipe system which meant sleeping was an issue.
