Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe temperature inside the capsule was far too warm for me, and there are no controls. Just a very poor performing fan.
The location is great. Plenty to walk to in Akihabara. Right next to the station. Plenty of freebies in the lounge including curry rice in the morning and alcohol in the evening.

MalaysiaCommunication is a MUST for great hospitality. When I say communication, I meant legible instructions, that's communicated among all hotel staff. For example, during Spring time, rain is very common in Tokyo and Japan. Foreign patrons do understand that shoes shouldn't be in the premises. And if it rains, shoes should be dried by drivers available from front desk at the reception. However, foreigners don't know that shoes should be dried, and not leave at the racks at the entrance. Sufficient instructions should be available to inform patrons. Or what the hotel staff can do is perhaps to upload content about instructions in not only their pamphlets but also on their websites. And when patrons don't understand the Japanese culture fully, staff should advise the patrons. This will inadvertently help. The other thing staff ought to know that, no every East Asian is a Japanese; there are Chinese, Koreans, Taiwanese, Mongolians, Russians, Southeast Asians, and even Westerners who look like Japanese. Hopes this helps. 😊
The simplicity of a capsule hotel but with all the hospitality amenities, and safekeeping comfort.

CanadaIt's a bit of a process to take a shower and involves visiting several floors of the hotel - other than that, everything is great!
This was our second time at this hotel on our trip - I think us returning says a lot about the experience! I had forgotten some important items at the hotel the first time, and they kept them in a safe space for our return. The staff is very friendly, and the facilities are very good - better than you would expect from a capsule hotel.

United StatesAbsolutely nothing! If you're a light sleeper, you may need earplugs for those that may snore near your capsule.
For a capsule hotel, it was pretty luxurious! Lots of amenities and toiletries were provided, had a free lounge that was 24 hours where you can sit a eat free rice almost all day, had free curry for breakfast, free sodas/juices/coffee/teas all day, plenty of tables, and all with plugs to charge your devices. The first floor lobby had shoe lockers to keep your shoes safe regular lockers for your belongings and smaller bags, larger lockers behind the counter to hold your larger bags, or you can be given bike locks with pad locks to keep your luggage near on your floor for easy access. On my floor there were free toiletries (toothbrushes/toothpaste/etc), there was a hair dryer and soap (never empty or dirty), bathrooms were exceptionally clean, provided slippers to swap into when entering, loads of toilet paper, and every toilet had a bidet, with automatic opening/closing seats. On the same floor you need your wristband with the bar code to enter the actual capsule room, where multiple bunk type capsules were, every one numbered and comes with a privacy shutter. Inside you were provided a flat screen tv with large headphones, a 3-socket wall plug for charging multiple devices, and even a dual USB charging brick WITH a 3-tip charging cable with a lightning/usb-c/micro usb plugs. You're also privided earplugs in the event you need extra quiet from those that snore, which honestly didn't bother me at all (I'm a heavy sleeper). The basement level is the washroom/spa and washer/dryer area to wash clothes (not free, but didn't use so not sure of the price), and the washing area is your standard community wash room with individual semi private stall/booths, complete with everything you need (shampoo/conditioner/body wash/razors) and a handheld shower head. Right next to the bathing area is a pretty large (I'd say roughly 8x10 ft jacuzzi spa to relax in. Large and small towels were provided free too.

Anshin Oyado was a fun, convenient, and comfortable experience for someone who had never traveled to Japan. The amenities were clean and convenient, staff were helpful, and the free amenities, drinks, and food were an absolute treat after a day of having fun in Akihabara. The location is perfect if your aim is to experience all of Akihabara and travel to some of the local train stations. Onsen, showers, and steam room were clean, quiet, and revitalizing after a day of walking. I would absolutely recommend Anshin Oyado to someone wanting a different experience than staying in a local hotel or rental property.

AustriaVery nice Staff and just perfect for the start or end of the trip (how I used it during my time in Tokyo itself). In the cellar is an artificial onsen and sauna, which is just nice to relax after arriving from the airport and before you adventour through Akihabara Evening entertainment 😉 Or you could just chill in the lounge of the second floor in included nice lounge wear and snack some and read mangas. Totally recommend it to every friend going to tokyo and or akihabara region!

United StatesFriday night is when there seems to be the most people so it might get crowded especially where you have your luggage. But on Saturday most people had left and rest of the time it was very quiet and spacious. Expected from capsule hotel and this didn't bother me at all but for some people it might be. Only 'negative' review I have.
Location! Just 2-3 blocks from Akihabara station and easily accessible even with large luggage. Staff speaks moderate English and they even helped me get back into the room when I accidentally left the key in the pod when I went out to bathroom at 1am. It was my mistake but they helped me right away. Amenities are amazing as others have already said. Bathing area is super clean and as long as you are comfortable being naked with other people (cultural difference) then no problem as others don't care about your body and just go in to shower/bathe and leave. 10/10 will stay again on my next visit. Can't beat the price, location, staff friendliness, amenities, and more! Lastly wifi is super fast (compared to US luxury hotels) 300+mb down, 200+mbs up even on Friday with so many people in the capsule hotel!

United KingdomThe fact that they were handing out PJs with the same colour meant you had everyone walking around with the same clothes on which meant for a slightly creepy Jonestown style cult vibe to the place. Also, the capsule rooms, whilst quite generous with space and power, were still uncomfortable and stuffy. If you're 18-30 then this isn't necessarily a problem but if you're older than this then you will in all likelihood suffer considerably after sleeping a couple of nights.
The fact that there was a free alcohol happy hour was a bonus. Also, the on site sento (NOT an onsen) was excellent. Finally, the capsule areas were quiet, clean and up to par with what you would expect from a capsule hotel. The fact there were washing and drying machines there was also excellent.

United StatesBeds not the most comfortable and loud neighbors snore, bring noise cancelling headphones or earbuds.
All you can eat and drink in the lounge 24/7, good for resting up before another outing. Location is amazing if you want to be exploring Akiba all day.

CanadaThe capsule rooms had a distinct smell, and the front desk lacked pharmacy conveniences like sleep aids and cough drops.
Perfect location right in the heart of Akihabara. Generous amenities (a few free drinks oer night) and a refreshing bath area. The capsules were pretty spacious too, I could have fit all my belongings in there with enough room to sleep comfortably. The staff were very friendly, several were fluent in English (for when my Japanese wasn't enough) and did everything they could to ensure a good stay.

United StatesFinding the hotel was a bit challenging, which could have been due to my slight disorientation upon just arriving in the country. Additionally, the shoe storage boxes were too small for my larger shoes.
The hotel boasts an excellent central location, situated right next to the train station and at the heart of Akihabara. It features very comfortable massage chairs and an impressive soft drink bar. The onsen provides a highly comfortable experience. Additionally, the capsules are surprisingly spacious and offer a high level of comfort.

IsraelI only wish that someone would have explained to me earlier how exactly you should use the hot spring. I think I could have avoided some small cultural mistakes but this is totally on me(I didn't read enough on the subject nor asked the staff)
I liked everything here 😁 The staff was generous and kind The free food and drinks in the lounge was much more than I was expecting and that is also including the massage chairs The pearl of the place is the artificial hot spring on the basement level ♨️ All the amenities are provided and they have a laundry machine which is always handy Overall this is currently one of the best stays I had in Japan. Stayed only one night cause I did all the attractions I wanted to do in the neighbourhood but was definitely worth it
