Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

JapanThere was no way to actually control the temperature in the room, aside from a panel on the night stand that had a "low / medium / high" setting. The heater is pre-set to a certain temperature. Before going to bed, I put the setting on low because I suspected it would be much hotter than I'm used to -- and it was. I woke up at 4AM because I was sweating so much. I went to open the windows to try and air out the room, but the windows were sealed and locked. There was a sign that said they're not designed to be opened at all. While the room eventually cooled down after turning off the heater, I was never able to get back to sleep because by the time it got back to a comfortable temperature, I had to get ready to leave. On this basis alone, I'm unlikely to book here again.
The staff were very kind and even let me into my room early, despite showing up a couple hours before check-in. Although the shower was a little dated, the room itself was very spacious, and the bed was comfortable. And while I did hear the light jazz music that was mentioned in several reviews, it wasn't so loud as to be disruptive. It's also in an excellent location! The room, on its face, is a good value for the money.

JapanAfter checking in, we were all looking forward to using the pool for the 30 minutes we had before meeting friends for dinner. My grandson was so disappointed when we chose NOT to pay an additional 1200 per person to use the pool for such a brief time. Also, I wish they had asked if we wanted to add breakfast when we checked in. There were five of us staying there and asked for a taxi. The receptionist could have ordered a taxi for all of us. When one arrived, it could not seat all of us and we had to wait for another one.
The beds and pillows were great, a large lobby and we could go in and out of parking for only 800 yen during our stay. The large bath was clean and had amenities.

JapanThe hotel building is somewhat old and the bathroom showed signs of deterioration. I didn't like the jazz BGM in all public areas -- there's no need for it and it can be heard faintly in your room until 10 pm. I don't like being charged extra for parking.
The bed and pillows were comfortable. The air conditioning worked well and was comparatively quiet. The lobby staff were friendly and helpful.

JapanThe bath was still closed. We hoped to go into the big bath so not knowing that it was closed was a little disappointing. Also we didn't know that you had to pay extra 800yen for parking.
we really liked the separation of the bedroom and living room area. Quiet, it was located in the middle of the city so it was easy to go shopping for little things. There is a 100yen shop nearby, Matsunoya restaurant right next to the hotel which was great for simple breakfast.

United StatesThe bathroom in the room has this old, yellow tint to everything as well as a smell that wouldn't go away no matter what I did. It was unpleasant enough to taint my otherwise perfectly fine stay at this hotel.
The room was quite spacious, and the large windows allowed for a nice view.

JapanThe "closed" pool and gym was a bit mysterious as they were both still being used...
Very affordable for such a great room and a mid-week stay. Room was nice and big and so was the bathroom. The free parking was great.

JapanThere was no soap at the sink (though there was shampoo, conditioner and body wash at the bath, along with toothbrush and razor). There were no pajamas, unusual for a Japanese hotel. Breakfast was +800 yen. It’s not really good value compared to the nearby Daiwa Roynet Hotel.

The fitness center was not owned by the hotel but rather an outside vendor…hotel fitness centers are usually 24 hour or at least very early morning this fitness center opened at 11:00 …the pool was the same story not owned by the hotel!!! It was a a sad situation!
