Perfect relaxing stay in Tokyo for family of 3

    • Japanese-Style Superior Triple Room

Nothing. But visitors should be aware that this is a traditional style ryokan hotel that might not be to everyone's taste. No furniture in room other than futons and small table. No telephone or television. No room service (other than breakfast). We found it very peaceful!

Wonderful boutique hotel, modern but in traditional Japanese style. Excellent location. Quiet side street. Very friendly and helpful staff. Delicious Japanese style breakfast. Very clean. Comfortable futon beds. Our child wanted to stay much longer.

Location is a little far from the station, making it a bit cumbersome to get here if you have a lot of luggage.

The friendly and helpful staff, as well as the wonderful atmosphere and vibe of the entire experience. The open air bath was so great with views of the Skytree.

I would have wished for some more personalised recommendations for restaurants.

The staff takes extremely well care. From events, sights and shopping, no wish was unfilled. I felt very well, almost as with friends. The traditional breakfast was delicious and is brought to the room.

We so much loved the property because we understand and deeply appreciate the beautiful, quaint cozy, minimalist traditional Japanese Roykan style inn. However, if you are a bigger, taller, wider person, loaded with lots of luggage who is looking spacious typical western style accommodations, then this may not be the place for you. EVERYTHING about this place is small, except for the friendly and caring energy.

Location and traditional Japanese accommodations; never to forget the attentive, lovable, friendly staff.

Check out at 10 am is not feasible so maybe the property could consider to increase it to 11 like all other hotels around Japan.

The hotel is offering a very unique experience. Don’t expect to go there to have tv, multiple restaurants and bar experiences. This property is offering a unique Japanese experience that we totally loved. It felt like an authentic and purely cultural stay for us that we did only for 1 night. We would have loved to stay a bit more. Dont forget to use the bath on the rooftop! The tatami bed was so comfortable and all the room was very well thought!

What a hidden gem, located a couple of minute walk from Sensoji, the family atmosphere truly embodies the quintessential Japanese Ryokan ethos. They were caring and engaging and conversational and helpful beyond expectation. The outdoor bath was a nice surprise too! Highly Recommended!

Yoko and the Cyashitsu team were next level fabulous, so kind, helpful and thoughtful. The Ryokan has a strong hospitality focus and it felt special to be a guest here. Our traditional tatami room was small but perfectly comfortable, breakfast was delicious. The open air rooftop bath is great, in a lovely small garden with views of the Sky Tree. The location in Asakusa is excellent, close to the temple and the station. Watch the beautiful Wim Wenders film 'Perfect Days' before you go!

The ryokan was very clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and made sure that we were comfortable. They went out of their way to learn about us and teach us some cultural lessons. Oh and if you book the private onsen room, it is soooo nice!

Overall, very satisfied with this ryokan, will back for sure.

We came between winter and spring and it was quite windy… the walk to and from the train station is quite cold without adequate clothing… but once you are inside the ryokan, everything is Bliss. I could find no fault at all. The stay was perfect.

Nestled away behind Sensoji Temple, this place was absolutely Incredible. From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us with open arms and treated us like family. We were a group of four split between two rooms. Myself in one and the girls in another. They thoroughly enjoyed the Outdoor Bath and the Breakfast. I myself had the private outdoor bath in my quarters. We had one vegetarian, one not-a-fan-of-fish and one not-a-fan-of-sauce… and they catered to our every need and want. The Tokyo Skytree was visible from both my room and my own private outdoor bath as well as the Main Outdoor Bath.

A great ryokan for first timers. The check in was amazing, staff were very friendly and lovely. The atmosphere was very cozy, each room is designed with great attention to detail. I had never slept on a futon before so I was a bit nervous but the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast they served in the morning was very filling with a great variety. The location was fantastic, it was right near Senso-ji temple which is a must visit if you go.

No dislikes at all. It was a wonderful experience staying at this ryokan.

This was hands down the best place I stayed during my trip to Japan! I booked it only for my last night, and now wish I would have booked it for the whole duration of my trip. The ambiance is so relaxing and beautiful. It feels like a tea room. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. I was welcomed with tea and a treat during check-in as they explained the ryokan experience. There is a beautiful complimentary rooftop onsen bath that can be reserved. Delicious complimentary breakfast is delivered to your room in the morning. The ryokan is located nearby local attractions and transit. The room was very clean and comfortable. And I felt very safe at the ryokan and its location (which was important to me, as I am woman & was traveling alone). I will definitely return to this ryokan when I visit Japan again!

Very much a concept hotel which enhanced the experience! The interior was gorgeous, the staff were very accommodating, the breakfast served to our room was great, and the open-air bath was fantastic after a long day of walking around. Part of the hotel concept was an emphasis on communication and a quiet space, both of which were wonderfully realized. The beds were futons which may take some getting used to if you've never used one, but they were quite comfortable. Great way to finish off our visit to Japan!

Staff were exceptionally friendly and their service was impeccable! Their attention to detail and how they walked us out and waved us goodbye whenever we left made a memorable impression. The hotel itself, while on the small side, was beautiful and stylish. Mizuki, Yoko, Taiga and other staff all made us feel very welcome. They recommended some good local places to eat. It was a memorable experience and conveniently located near the Senso-Ji temple about five minutes walk away and plenty of food options nearby. There's also a massive Don Quixote about five to ten minutes away. A lovely hotel with warm staff that made our last few days in Japan very special

Even though the size of the room was stated on the website, it felt really tiny, hardly any space to move around. . Also considering how much the room cost, I was expecting to have the toilet inside the room instead of outside. Every time we had to go to the toilet (especially during the night) we had to wear something decent...also the room had very little space/hangers to put our clothes.

They really go the extra mile to make it as authentic as possible. The staff was AMAZING! Very helpful, polite, friendly bunch of people! The breakfast was to die for. We stayed for 2 nights on room 61 with private onsen. We had the onsen every night around 11pm and even though the weather was bellow 10 degrees we didn't feel the cold at all, was just perfect.

    We loved everything!!!

This was our favourite stay of our Japan trip!!!! I cannot speak more highly of the incredible staff at Cyashitsu Ryokan who were always available to support us with any questions that we had, or even just to have a friendly conversation with. They were always looking for ways to make our stay more amazing, whether that be cups of tea to our room, scheduling time in the onsen or providing us with amazing recommendations. The accomodation was comfortable, warm, traditional, clean and overall, perfect! The bathroom was clean and had great amenities. We loved using our traditional robes each day. A highlight of our stay was our breakfast, cooked fresh each morning and delivered to our room. It was the best traditional Japanese breakfast that we had of the whole trip and was a big highlight. We loved it!!! Our room was warm, comfortable, cosy and perfect to come home to after busy days of exploring Tokyo. Using the private onsen was also amazing and was such a great feature of our stay. The accomodation was located perfectly, only a 15-20 minute walk from Asakusa Station, which was a main line, connecting us easily to all of the main spots in Tokyo. This is a must stay and I would highly recommend it! Thank you to Yuka and all of the staff who made it unforgettable!

    It was hard to leave!

What a gem of a place! We were welcomed like family and given a cup of tea and snack on arrival. So pleased to have had a night here, would have happily stayed longer. The private onsen on the roof is a scene stealer. Such a wonderful way to relax after a day walking around Tokyo. The breakfast was one of the best meals I had on the entire trip. Thank you to all the friendly and informative staff for looking after us and helping us book a restaurant for dinner. Small is cool!

I honestly cannot think of a single thing.

Perfect in every way. I had come from a couple of large 5-star hotels (I was in Tokyo for work and was hosted at other accommodation) before extending my stay and choosing the ryokan. I was a bit worried as there was only an 11m2 room available (busy weekend, Chinese New Year!) but I needn't have been. The space was great. There is everything you need. Breakfast was amazing! The sky bath was lovely and very much appreciated. The room was spotless, the WiFi excellent and the staff are the kindest ever. The location is also great. I would choose Asakusa over any other area in Tokyo. You are so close to Senso-Ji, a short walk from the subway and train station and it's a lively area with lots of great little restaurants to choose from on your doorstep and plenty of shopping. This is a real experience, due to how fantastic the staff are and their whole philosophy of hospitality. If you are doubtful about choosing a more 'Western' style hotel or the ryokan, choose this and you will be so glad that you did. I will not forget this stay in a hurry. Better than a 5 star welcome and such a personal experience! Thank you for everything. I cannot wait to come back.
