If you are sensitive to noise, this might not be the choice because you can hear the cars from the main street.

The hostess was amazing! She spoke conversational English and was always so sweet and kind. Some of the profits from the BnB go towards helping children with food insecurities. She makes a delicious homemade and traditional Japanese breakfast. The view from her backyard is breathtaking. There are two rooms that face towards the stream, one is a bunk bed and the other a double bed. Make sure to get those rooms if you want a peaceful view.

Location is abit far from Kamakura Station but its within walking distance to Ten-en hiking trail and a few nice temples.

Kimi-san's warm hospitality makes you feel like being at home. Traditional Japanese breakfast was delicious. Guesthouse is well kept and clean. Easily one of the best stay ever.

The owner Kimie san’s hearty welcome gave me a time of feeling at home. The location is good for you to enjoy a day in Kamakura at your own pace. The breakfast is served in traditional Japanese style and really nice. By staying at her B&B you can help Kimie san’s Children’s cafe.

Everything! It felt like staying with family. Upon arrival Kimie greeted us kindly, she showed us the facilities (very well equipped and clean). During our stay in our room she provided us a hot water bag to make the bed more comfortable. The daily breakfast was also complete, delicious and nutritious. Kimie is a very kind and fun person, she invited us to social activities when the opportunity arose and we had a lot of fun. The house is a bit far from the train station but can easily be reached via bus from the station. It is located near the beautiful bamboo forest and there is also a convenience store nearby. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it. We felt at home and Kimie’s hospitality was superb.

The B&B had a nice view of the river. It was very relaxing. The breakfast was also very delicious. It was so tasty. I loved all of it. The salmon and mackerel was very flavorful. I enjoyed staying in the B&B because Kimie was very kind and very hospitable. I stayed over during the winter and she gave everyone a hot water bottle so the bed could be warm. The bed was also very comfortable and the bed sheets were very soft. The B&B is also relatively close to everything and there were a couple of bakeries around it.

An only minor thing may need to concern if the guest is sensitive with sounds. The building is located by a busy road, so it is slightly noisy with big car passby during afternoon - early evening. But during the sleeping time is ok.

The host is super hospitable. The house has a nice common space and provides great breakfast. The bed is comfortable. The heater can be used in cold weather. Slightly away from the most crowded areas but still not far fromn some popular spots. Considering to stay again if I visit Kamakura again.

I must say, it is not something I did not like but people should take note of the following, - It's a guesthouse and there is no lift, it may not be ideal for guest carrying heavy suitcases. - The wall is thin and I could hear the snore from neighbouring guest. It was not really a problem for me at night though. Please be quiet and respectful if you choose to stay there.

    1. First up, I cannot give enough praise for the host Kimie. She's so friendly, personable, thoughtful and educated. I felt so looked after during my two-night stay at her place. In particular, in the second night temperature dropped. Before I knew it, she had already placed a hot water bottle in my bed. It kept my bed warm all night. 2. Kimie speaks good English and well-traveled. Her cooking (breakfast) was top notch and it was such a joy to share breakfast time chatting with other fellow travelers. Kimie effortlessly got everyone involved in a nice conversation, like a seasoned broadcast host. I admire her personality and applaud everything she does for her guests. 3. I also like the location where you are truly immersed in the local community.

It’s about a 15-20 minute walk from the center of town or a short bus ride. But it’s in a peaceful area and close to some temples and a very pretty bamboo garden. Also a tasty bakery nearby.

We loved Kimmie the host, she is so kind and welcoming. Our 11 month could play on the floor and had wonderful food prepared for him. The Japanese breakfast was delicious. The bed was comfortable and everything very clean and inviting. Felt like a home away from home!

The bunk beds had very little overhead-couldnt sit up! But our married family members had a nice full size bed. We are morning coffee people, but coffee was an extra charge. It would have been nice to have a pot available to sip coffee during the morning activities.

Home setting with kitchen and laundry available. We were served a wonderful Japanese style breakfast at the time of our choosing by our hostess, Kimie. Kimie was very personable, warm and friendly. She speaks English well and helped us with our Japanese, as well as getting around town on foot and lots of good info on the temples and sights in Kamakura. Kimie’s house looks out over a wide, shallow creek filled with Koi and other wildlife. We enjoyed sitting on the veranda listening to the murmuring creek and feeding the fish. Kimie also has a great play area on tatami with toys to entertain our toddler while we had breakfast or relaxed.

    Nothing.

The breakfast was delicious and so big. We didn't need to eat lunch, breakfast carried us through the day. It's an easy 5-10 walk to nearby historic temples that are less touristy and that serve traditional matcha and sweets in the most beautiful settings. We walked to temples, the beach and to the touristy komachi dori. We also took the bus which was very easy. The bus at the train station will be in spots 4 and 5. It's the easiest to use your welcome suica card, but the bus will also take cash and give you change. Swipe your suica when you get on and then when you get off. Any bus in those two spots labeled 4 and 5 will take you to her street and then it's a short walk to her bnb. Message the host for the name of the stop, but even if you miss it the stop after hers is not that far away either. The bnb signage is good, so you can easily find it. All buses at the stop nearest to her bnb go into the main area of town. Since she's a little out of the way, it's a lot less crowded and there are still a good amount of cafes, restaurants and shops within walking distance. The bed was the most comfortable bed we slept in during our trip. We normally get up at least once every night but we felt so relaxed at her place we slept through the night. The room was decent size, we had a smaller room in shinjuku. Even though you have to take turns using the shower/tub, she keeps it quite clean. It looked and felt cleaner than in hotels. It's also a very large bathroom for Japan. Coffee isn't included in the breakfast, but since I'm a coffee lover I paid the additional price for it and it was such a lovely experience. It's better than going to a cafe and we went to several nearby cafes. She gave us cookies to go with the coffee which was nice and strong and it was served in such a lovely way too. I loved the entire experience and would return again. We met other guests who regularly return to her bnb, one said it was his 10th year there.

There was nothing particular I didn't like but reading through some of the other comments and then comparing to my experience - 1. Hotel is around 15 mins walk from the station which I though was fine. With luggage you want to get the bus over - it's 178 yen for one trip and takes like 5 mins etc. 2. Bikes - the bikes on the property are not private, it's a public share bike system. You'll need to download the HELLOCYCLING app - to get the SMS code to activate, you'll need to have either a japanese number OR get your international number connected to Google Voice to get the SMS. There are buses most places, but cycling is the fastest way to get around. They are e-bikes , good to get up hills. 3. Some folks have commented on the main road, when I had ear plugs in - I heard very little to nothing.

Kimie was a wonderful host - great to meet her and learn more about Japanese life. Breakfast was so memorable and different type of fish daily. I really look forward to them, made the whole experience feel very local. Hotel is by a little creek and double room has a cute balcony looking over the river with great natural light (try book that one if available). Great location as well. Good hot showers with decent water pressure.

Away from the creek, the B&B borders on a busy road.

Kimie is a great host: a super nice person - and an excellent cook! Also, we loved that our room had a balcony overlooking a romantic creek. And everyone staying at the B&B has access to a terrace overlooking that same creek.
