Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United StatesThe washers & dryers have lots & lots of Japanese writing about how to wash different types of clothes. I didn't see any English instructions (it's possible that I missed it), but it's overwhelming even for Google Translate. I ended up taking my clothes to the 24hr place around the corner instead. The laundry room was too inconvenient. Also, it's really unfortunate & outdated that the onsen in a hotel doesn't allow tattoos at all.
We lucked out & got an excellent view. The few staff members I interacted with spoke English, which I don't expect since this is Japan, but it is very convenient.

Trust me be near trains while u carry bags and changing hotels all the time is vital!! The whole japan transportation means lack of escalators . You gonna get tired of walking. So pick a location near the metro or train station

GermanyThe walls around the sink & in the shower needed to be cleaned - there was toothpaste & shower gel splatter from previous occupants. The breakfast was so-so - it’s nice to have the chance to sample Japanese items, but western options were all cold. If you’re not adventurous, what you’re left with isn’t really worth the price. More clothes hanging/storage space would be helpful (only 6 hangers on very short bars).
The room was spacious enough (2 people with 2 large suitcases & a carry-on). Everything was very clean (see minor exception below) & it was quiet. It was anout a 15 minute walk to the main train/subway station. The staff were friendly & spoke English well. What you get for the price = great! We even thought about extending and making day trips to Osaka and regretted not doing it after.

AustraliaThe very spacious room was great, and all the previous rooms on our trip to Japan were on the small side, so the spacious rooms were needed. The room was clean and modern. There were extra amenities available from the friendly staff at the front desk. The location of the hotel was close to Kyoto station and a subway station as well as some tourist destinations such as Fushimi Inari, which was only a short bike ride away on the bikes that were free to hire from the hotel. Overall, it was a great stay!

The staff was very friendly and helpful from the get go. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The large public bath (onsen) was a great place to unwind and relax after a long day of exploring Kyoto. The hotel is very close to the JR Kyoto station, which means we lost very little time commuting and could make the most of our stay.

United StatesThis was our most spacious hotel during our trip across Japan! It was clean and comfortable, the front desk staff was very accommodating, and they have coin operated laundry which we utilized during our stay. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from Kyoto Station, and is a short walk to a train station and a bus stop that took us to some major attractions. The breakfast was also worth it-- they have a Western style breakfast buffet as well as a traditional Japanese noodle soup station.
