How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

I find a bit weird and overwhelming the staff screaming out loud IRASSHAIMASE/ARIGATOUHOZAIMSU at every single guest entering and exiting the breakfast room. I wish there was also some moisturizing lotion in the room.
The best thing about comfort hotels is the included breakfast with every booking. Rooms are nice, comfortable mattresses, soundproof.

Friendly staff. Room was comfortable, and the location makes it easy to get to the station. Breakfast was good and the breakfast staff was really helpful.

Very close to the castle, a really good position to start and explore the city, a bit far from JR station, but the tram will take you very close to the hotel. Big rooms, comfortable beds, clean and tidy. Good breakfast and lovely staff.

The location is fabulous, so close to the castle, gardens, great food, and convenience stores. The room was large and comfortable, quiet, and the breakfast was very good. There was an amazing indian restaurant opposite with a yellow door, with the best and most nuanced Indian food I've had anywhere i the world. Great value, we'd stay again.

Other than the fresh juice, breakfast offering is simpler than other Japanese hotel of similar category.
Good location next to Matsuyama Castle and the park. 12 mins walk to the main train station and parking is conveniently located behind the hotel. Healthy juice offered at breakfast. Having the pyjamas for guests as well as allowing the breakfast room to be used throughout the day by guests as a rest and eating area is nice.

This is a decent, standard hotel to stay in. You probably won't remember it long afterwards, but it's a comfortable stay.
Great location, close to Matsuyama castle. Helpful and friendly staff. Clean room of standard size for a decent price.

The pillows are tiny. Luckily you can get another one at the reception.
Hotel is clean and very comfortable. Bathroom is nice and rooms are large. The location is very convenient. Breakfast was fine, mostly western.

Free breakfast offers more than my expectation! Room size is good for 2. Near the Matsuyama-shi station, and walking to the city center (大街道) only takes about 10 minutes.

The breakfast and coffee provided on site were merely ok and the choice wasn't extensive, but they were also free and perfectly adequate - not a complaint at all, merely a tempering of expectations. The pillows might be a little hard for some people's taste, but they were very generous about providing extras from the open storage on the second floor. These are nitpicks, not actual complaints about the stay.
The location was excellent, within an easy walk of attractions, and with superb access to public transit. The rooms, were large, comfortable, and clean. The free breakfast, lounge, and bikes were also great benefits. Everything is a step above what one might expect for a hotel of its style and value.

The beds were not that comfortable. The pillows were not at all pillows and left my friend and I with stiff necks for the duration of our stay. If we stayed here again we would either bring our own pillows or ask for more from the front desk.
The breakfast was very good. They had a lot of different options available and everything we tried was delicious. The room was spacious and clean. The hotel is brand new so the bathroom was very modern and beautiful.

The hotel only had 3 washer+dryer machines for laundry which can be pretty tough for a 12 storey hotel. Granted the TV in the room allows you to check the congestion status but it’s not terribly helpful if your laundry window is narrow when traveling. It would be good if they could separate the washing and drying to stagger the usage.
A bit of a walk to the main shopping district (~10-15min) but for the price it was still pretty manageable. Convenience store is just a few units down the road. Relatively spacious for Japan standards and very clean. Liked that you can self-service to more pillows and other amenities (including air purifier machines) in the laundry room too.

The room was a little small for 2 people.
The Comfort Hotel Matsuyama is well located being close to Matsuyama Castle and well served by public transport.The room and bathroom were both clean and the bed was comfortable. We found the staff to be pleasant and helpful when we asked for additional pillows.The complimentary buffet breakfast was tasty with plenty of options. We thought the hotel was good value for money.
