Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesConfusing computerized bathtub filling process; everything is written in Japanese language. No faucet so you will have to push the button to start filling out the hot water, raising and lowering water temperature, etc. It is a cool feature but you will need to identify which button does what.
Convenient location, efficient check out process, and the rooms which had two bedrooms, kitchen, dining table and sofa, and the bathroom.

United StatesIt was 30 days stay, so it would be better if we were offered to borrow vacuum cleaner. And it was hard for us it cost double comparing to last year, almost more expensive than regular hotels.
Very nice access to train and bus stations, there’s kitchen and good size of bathroom. Building is quite new (or newly renovated). Excellent stuff service. It was our third time and spent great time!

New ZealandThis is the second time in Nagasaki & it's really grown on us as the town is super condensed & rolls over the hills & has beautiful ocean landscape views. This Hotel is directly opposite the train station & tram cars & a huge shopping centre complex. check in is fine we completed it all online before arrival & you just park/have someone wait at the actual hotel with bags while someone goes next door to get the key a 2min stroll away. We were given the top floor & the room was two storied so pretty high & great views. This room has stairs & Japanese stairs are pretty short & steep therefore, this would not be for everybody. The room was pretty spotless, a near full kitchen with gas burners, a grill, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine small lounge/dining area with a flat screen sep wc from bathroom & the 2 bedrooms upstairs. both with storage. There is plenty of restaurants/ Lawsons etc around the hotel & car parking was pretty easy all together pretty great stay.

New ZealandBit confusing having to go to another building around the corner to check in, but got it sorted. I’m a light sleeper and the curtains let in more light than the other hotels we have been staying in.
Just across from the Train Station and Street Car. Very nice and clean. Good sized room and Washing Machine. Bed was comfortable and no outside noise. Staff were friendly and helpful, no English but got by using Translators.

JapanThe TV didn't have netflix and such which really didn't fit the otherwise sort of luxurious feel. Also, the two double-beds could easily have fitted four people but I feel it only showed the capacity of three.. I could be mistaken though.
Great location and well-equipped, spacious rooms, with a hint of luxury even.

AustraliaThe check in instructions confused me and we ended up going to Coruscant 1, which turned out to be the right thing to do as payment could be made there. We were also shown how to access the lift and the apartment. English instructions a little problematic. Instructions for the aircon and washing machine need updating, they were both Sharp and the instructions were for Mitsubishi models and the remotes for TV, lights and aircon were all in Japanese characters. Had to ask for help at Coruscant 1. Staff were friendly and helpful enough but had limited English.
This was described as a family room with 2 large beds, washing machine and microwave. In fact it was a 2 bedroom apartment and very comfortable. The location is opposite Nagasaki station and down a side street an round a corner, so quite handy for station and street car. There are lifts to the overhead walkways. The station area was a huge building site which made acces more difficult. There are lots of shops and restaurants in the AMU mall which is next to the station.

JapanThe refrigerator was noisy at times, and the freezer was coated in ice like it had melted and refrozen (improperly turned off and aired out, I imagine). The main areas were very clean, but the tops of fixtures, exhaust fans, and high places were very dusty. Please remember to clean these places regularly as well. The bed was low, firm, and felt lower-quality, almost rough at times. I was worried I might roll out of it at night.
The location is excellent, close to the station and plenty of nearby places to get food and drink. Cheap (but limited) overnight parking on-site and nearby. For how much room you get, it's a good price. Having a small kitchen is nice if I was staying longer than 2 nights on business. Washing and drying available in room is a nice touch. The bath room was clean and modern.

JapanThe check-in process is time consuming and unnecessary. It needs to be revamped and improved. The room itself was pretty clean except the shower room had red mildew from water and the aircon looked like it had never been cleaned for years.
The location is near Nagasaki station, and the apartment style is convenient for a family.

JapanThey said they had to change the linen and towels every 3 days but then just left towels and sheets at the door and didn’t take away the old ones. We didn’t really need a change but found this system off putting. Why bother if you’re not actually going to change anything?

GermanyThe curtains were a little bit thin so it was quite bright in the night.
With two beds, the flat would be a little bit small for two large suitcases, but they can fit in there. It's a complete flat with a small kitchen, perfect for long stays. Pots, pan, plates, forks and so on were clean. There was a washing machine and I was provided washing detergent. And there was a toilet brush in the restroom!

United StatesIf you're traveling in a group of two with both individuals nearing 6'0, it can sometimes feel cramped. I did not like how we only had 1 pillow per person.
I really liked the layout of the room. It's pretty much like an apartment/condo with its own kitchen, closet, refrigerator, and washing machine for laundry. I had a comfortable stay and would definitely come back in the future.
