How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The hotel was great. Location was the best, it was right in the middle of almost all the sights we wanted to visit, all within walking distance. The rooms were larger than we expected and accomodated two people with two medium sized luggages perfectly. The view from our room was also amazing, able to see a beautiful sunset. Food at breakfast was also really nice, while limited variety, still tasted amazing.

Perfect base to visit the area. Everything is in easy walking distance from the hotel. Clean, good-sized rooms. Good buffet breakfast mix of Japanese and Western styles.

As it is located on a busy street, taxis are not allowed to stop and pick up customers due to local regulation.

The location was really good, walking distance from everything. Bathroom was big with an integrated washing/drier which came in very handy. Buffet breakfast.

this hotel definitely exceeded my expectations. our visit started getting information from the reception staff that was helpful and helped with getting transport for the airport. just a few minutes walk there is a bus that goes straight to the airport, very convenient! the staff printed us a schedule with a recommended time to leave to get to our flight on time. room felt luxurious and was one of the most comfortable rooms we had during our trip. breakfast was very nice combining Japanese dishes with western delicacies.

I was surprised that the staff is unable to help to call for taxi service saying that the taxi is not allowed to stop in front of the hotel. We arrived from the JR station with the taxi due to our luggages. There were 8 of us traveling together and we took 4 taxi. There was no problem during the drop off. Due to our big luggages we were concerned about lugging into the bus even though the bus stop was less than a 5 minute walk. The alternative was that we have to flag down the taxi ourselves by the road side. I was told it's the hotel's policy. At the end we took the bus since it was a Sunday that we left.
Good location, with bus stops nearby especially the city loop line. Clean room and offered good breakfast. Also there is a free coffee offered round the clock.

Exceptional property. Can’t speak more highly about how comfortable and even luxurious our stay felt, given the very reasonable rate we paid for a deluxe twin room. Everything was top notch, including how helpful all the staff were.

Comfortable bed but terribly uncomfortable pillows.
Perfect location and exceptional value for money. Clean and tidy, lovely breakfast (paid extra for this but good value) and would highly recommend hotel.

We asked the concierge to make a restaurant reservation for us but our request was declined. The hotel’s policy is not to do this, due to potential $$ liability falling back on the hotel if we failed to honour the reservation. This was frustrating as we had no other way to make our own bookings. Further, there was no comfortable lounge-type area in the reception where one might relax. With small rooms, sometimes one prefers to sit in a comfortable and safe space elsewhere in the hotel.
We asked for and received a room high up in the building, away from the busy street side. The hotel is well-located - not too far from the Koruku-en Garden which we visited three times.

The staff was very helpful during our stay. The location was perfect for us. Our room was quite smaller than the other hotels we have stayed at, but it was still very nice and clean.

no public bath. The breakfast was good, but some things (fruit) ran out often. They always brought more, but this could have been better by simply having a bigger bowl.
The bed was comfortable. The washer/dryer was good to have, though it didn't dry the clothes all the way, even after running half the clothes through for an extra dry cycle. The bath was nice, which is std for hotels in Japan. The location was GREAT; so convenient for most of the attractions in Kanazawa.
