Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesProvide an empty laundry basket so if guests leave their laundry way after dry time has expired, another guest can use the dryer.

United KingdomThe only reason I didn’t give a 10 star review is because my room looked out onto a wall making it dark and depressing.
Onsen was amazing. Breakfast great. Staff lovely. Location a short distance from The train station.

NetherlandsEven though the location is very close to the station, it is rather annoying to reach if you follow Google Maps. There are some pedestrian bridges in front of the station. Ignore these and take the "long way around". Because if you have more than 1 suitcase like me, it will be a real pain to go up and down the stairs. There are some elevators, but not everywhere.
The room was nice and clean and spacious enough. The hotel has a 7/11 attached to it which makes it really convenient and the free late night ramen was pretty great as well. The onsen though was awesome, nothing beats a nice soak after a long day. Would stay again if I am in Nagasaki.

SwitzerlandClean, well appointed — always important in Japan where rooms and bathrooms are small — the staff was super nice and helpful and the location perfect. Not a stunning area of Nagasaki but very conveniently placed near the station.

GermanyLoved the hotel. The bonuses like the noodles and the massage chair were great. I didn't use the onsen, but for those who like onsen, this is also a great extra. I sent my luggage ahead, and it was ready when i checked in. They also stored it for me when i left, so i could pick it up later.

United StatesHaving just come from an apartment-style stay with a proper refrigerator, the Dormy's "cooling element" for ice was not enough to preserve some ice cream treats I tried to bring with me. I had to throw them out (fortunately, the Dormy had nearly the same ice cream treat for free on the top floor, so I didn't have to suffer too badly). I've only used a few public baths, but the ones at the Dormy were the most crowded I'd seen. The did have a private TV channel (more like status screen) that showed if they were crowded (it had three levels: empty, semi-crowded, and crowded), but it was still more people than I was used to seeing, in general. This is probably more of a good thing than a bad thing, but for public bath newbies (like me), it's something to keep in mind and be ready for. The massage chairs were heavily used, and some of the leather had worn through in the head rest area. I solved it by keeping an extra dry towel with me (when I remembered) to put behind my head. However, it was a moot point half the time, since the chairs were fairly popular so there wasn't always one available. There was a piece of floor lining near the shower that was peeling. It was still a little sticky, so I pushed it back, but it started peeling back again after 5 minutes. I told the front desk about it, and they said they'd send someone while I was out, but I didn't notice any improvement. I think whoever came (if anyone came) just pushed it back like I had, figured it was fixed, and left before seeing it peel up again. However, this was in a dry area (not the shower itself). Apart from occasionally triggering my OCD, it had zero impact on my stay.
The onsen was on the top level and was surprisingly nice with a faux-natural appearance. They even had an outdoor bath. The bath floor had a small reading room with manga, free ice cream pops, and two massage chairs. They offered free noodles in the evening, and probiotic beverages in the morning. Basically: they had a lot of nice, fun little free things that enhanced the enjoyment of the stay (would I have had 4 ice cream bars if I had to pay? probably not). The location was pretty close to the main train station, but the area in front of the station is pretty large and there are many pedestrian bridges. This is good, but it's also confusing for new arrivals. Burdened with our luggage, we ended up taking a very non-optimal route from the station to the hotel, which we did not repeat when we checked out. Once you know how to go, the station with its bounty of shops and eateries is only about a 5 minute walk away, and there are many little streetside restaurants even closer than that. We had a great meal at the Chinese resturant just out the front door from the Dormy. The room was thoughtfully appointed and very clean and comfortable. My Japan trip was several weeks long, and by this time I was a little fatigued from so much sightseeing, so I really appreciated the bath and perks at the Dormy. Tragically, I may have appreciated the Dormy even more than Nagasaki itself. I really needed some downtime, and the Dormy was perfect for it.
