We had a room on the ground floor. This was ok in april but I would'nt stay in this room in july-august because alle the air conditioning units where outside the room. It would be great if somebody would clean every once in a while the reception room.

I like the feel of the property. It was exactly what I was looking for on that part with the tatami floors and the futon. It was a lovely surprise to use the yukata

Have to be very quiet because of older construction and quiet area. A little expensive for me but probably good considering the area.

A bit run down. The furniture and tea sets are dusty.

Its a traditional place where we slept on futons. We were provided with yukata for our stay.

The bathroom was a little small for my tall friend but other than that, it wasn't too bad.

Great location close to the station. Friendly English speaking staff who are very helpful with suggestions for local spots too. Although it was a small Ryokan, the room was perfect size for the 3 of us. No complaints here as we only stayed for 1 night.

i kinda disappointed with this place, especially for the tv and the table, it really wasnt match with the theme of the room.. but overall it was quite nice

they give a traditional japan clothes to try on, and the staff is really nice

There were no curtains therefore you would wake up at 5 when the sun rises. During the night there was too much light in the street as well. The room wasn’t clean 100%.

It was close to the main station. It was nice to feel the experience of sleeping in a ryokan. Staff was nice!

The walls and doors were thin. Though I understand it is part of the design of the house, this may have caused disturbances to other guests especially when my young child was having a tantrum. The window shields do not block the sunlight enough in the morning. Please add thicker shades. Staff was not available for queries most of the time, and I saw guests waiting for someone to help them out at multiple times near the reception. Maybe a phone no to reach them and a phone line in room will help. The bathroom was too small and my body was hitting against the walls whenever I try to move. For context, I am not the biggest in a room. Also the rooms was small and difficult to accommodate 3 people(2 adults and 1 kid).

It liked that I was able to experience how locals stay (as close as possible for a foreigner who has constraints.)

the property was what you paid for. it’s conveniently located close to Kyoto station and other attractions. the experience of being in a ryokan was simple but it wasn’t a bad experience.

Smallish table to dine. Common area/entrance was tiny.

Ideal location to catch a train or bus, in a quiet and charming neighbourhood. Nights were peaceful and it was nice to stay in a traditional setting. Yukata were added to our room, this was a nice gesture and nice experience (note; not to be taken home!). Very friendly welcome on our arrival.
