The room was spacious enough for four of us, and to my surprise there is a washer/dryer in the room and kitchenette equipped with an induction cooker.

The hotel has very big rooms with all needed amenities you will need (bathroom and toilet are separated). The location is great, just a short walk from Kagoshima-chuo station and the arcades in the city center. I had a very good stay here and would stay in the FAV hotel again when coming back to Kagoshima.

Initially, we found the room key arrangement challenging (there is no key—one gets into one's room by way of a code for your room). Unless specifically requested, there is no room service. I am not suggesting that these were matters that we did not like; instead, they differed from the norm, and we had to familiarise ourselves with the arrangement.

The accommodation was up to standard, and the service staff were helpful. It was different than anticipated, and once we got into the swing of things, we found it easy to navigate, and the cost savings in how things were run were to our benefit. The beds were exceptionally comfortable.

I liked how spacious this accommodation was and the availability of a washing machine/dryer which was very handy after hiking in the nearby area.

Rooms were a bit small but that's expected from a Japanese hotel room. The light under the bed was a bit bright at night.

The hotel was like new and had a washing machine/dryer in the room. The beds were big and the futon was more padded than other futons I had tried. They provide luggage storage for when you arrive too early and check out too early.

We spent four nights at Fav Kagoshima. Location was excellent, a calm residential neighborhood with plenty of parking spaces around the hotel. It only takes 10-15 minutes to get to Tenmonkan area by foot. The room was spacious, modern and very clean, with a washing machine and a small kitchenette with a great view of the city and the volcano. Check in was fast and efficient, breakfast was delicious and the staff was incredibly helpful in making reservations at restaurants and answering our questions.

There was nothing we could possibly think of.

Very new, exceptionally well appointed and spotlessly clean. We had everything we could possibly want. The staff were absolutely amazing. They were so incredibly helpful. We wanted to book the Samurai Experience at Sengan-En, but could do it online, as there were issues with the translated pages. We requested assistance, and staff went out of their way to coordinate bookings for us. It was a group present for wedding anniversary, as well as three birthdays in close proximity. This raised our trip from great, to truly spectacular. Thank you so much.

We drove and had to park at 5-10mins walk away from the hotel's affiliate car park. It's not too bad but it's challenging when it rains and you need to walk back to hotel.

My kids really enjoyed the breakfast spread - it's a pity this will be discontinued for 2024. Location was so good, just 10mins walk from Kagoshima station and eateries. Front staff recommended a good local shabu shabu place, which turned out to be one of our favourite meals of our trip.

There was a lot of light in the room due to various devices, including lights to light up the switches themselves. It was difficult to sleep for this reason, as I need a dark room to sleep well.

Great location - it was a short tram ride away from the main station. Loved the breakfast (although they has a sign saying that from 2024 they were getting rid of the breakfast.)

Room is slightly smaller the compared to the FAV Hotel in Kumamoto. Other than that all else is good.

First, the room was the largest we’ve had so far in Japan. It was spacious, super comfortable, had a great view of Sakurajima and even had a washer/dryer which was appreciated. The staff was super helpful securing parking (note: reserve in advance as parking on site is limited) and with the complimentary breakfast (which was also lovely). Finally, it’s location was convenient: about a 10-minute walk to the train station and It was around the corner from our favorite izikaya, Gaoryu, where we ate twice because the seafood and sashimi is amazing as is their speciality fried daikon (yum!) and fried pork plus the owner “Mother” and her son make the place fun.

The room is super spacious and well equipped. We love the washing machine in the room and we can wash our clothing from hiking. The bed is very comfortable. The breakfast has good variety and delicious.
