Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesKind of smelled a little like smoke? Maybe I just have a sensitive nose but it was no problem! No hotel parking available, have to find paid parking around the corner. Only vending machines, no free water, microwave is secured until the morning for breakfast.
The room was good and comfortable and it was conveniently located. It was quiet as all Japanese hotels are and rooms were clean.

United KingdomThe check-in was relatively easy but the pre check-in procedure was an absolute nightmare. The hotel insisted that a form be completed with additional information, but the details required were all in Japanese which l can't read. I pointed this out to the hotel and they simply sent me the same form claiming the language could be altered by clicking on a button on the form. There was NO button! The owner of another hotel helped me fill it in, but it was a very time consuming and stressful procedure. "Breakfast". You call that breakfast? This totally aimed at Asian guests and not what Europeans are used to. There wasn't even any tea or coffee. Continental options would be appreciated with fruit, yoghurt, boiled eggs pastries and toast. Tea or coffee would be essential.
Clean, quiet, central location.

Czech RepublicSo called breakfast is not existing. In the morning you will come to a lobby where you will find few bowls with noodles and a container with warm broth. That is the breakfast. Nothing else. I also didn't notice (when ordering) that the hotel is completely unstaffed. Before your arrival, you must do a complete check-in on the website, just as you would with a flight. In case that you have any problem, for example with the keycard, good luck with the solution.
The room was small, but quite ok. Hotel has a good position on the main road around 500 meters from train station.

JapanThe breakfast is quite basic. I don't think I'll bother with it next time. And this isn't fair on this hotel in particular, but god I hate Japanese pillows. It would be nice if we could swap for softer ones.
Close to the station, easy to check in and out. Good price.

Hong KongWhen I first arrived at the hotel, I wanted to store my luggage in the luggage room (I arrived at 2pm and check in starts from 4pm), however all the locks were out of order. I reached out to a staff and she took a few minutes to finally figure the situation. Not a pleasant check-in experience. The tablet in my room has some technical issues, it keeps restarting.
The free breakfast is nice but its a bit boring having uton noodle every single day. The location is excellent - there’s a train station right next to the hotel. Perfect for independent travellers.

GermanyThe check in is supposed to be done using a tables computer and a card reader. When I arrived two of the three devices were not working properly. There was no staff on site, you could call for help via video call (without video, the operator was not very motivated, it felt kind of like a call center). Early check-in is not possible, the operator hung up on me without bothering to explain that there is a self-service room to lock my luggage if I want to (another guest who was waiting in the lobby was kind enough to tell me). Linens and towels are clean but in the corners of the room (below the bed, etc.) there is dust. On the (black) walls there are some spots with stains if you look closely (the rooms are rather dark). My stay was somewhat OK in general but for that price I am used to much better service and quality in Japan.
The location is OK, you can replenish towels, toilet paper, etc. for free (self service on the same floor). Other than that it's more like your average business hotel but without service. I didn't enjoy my stay there very much.. if I return to Hakata I will try a different hotel. I didn't interact much with the cleaning staff but they seemed to be very friendly.

Japanneed to walk a bit like 8-12 mins to reach the hotel. Seems like it’s a bus stop in front of the hotel, but didn’t take it. Also, I didn’t request for smoking room. :(
Check in and check out processes are easy, the whole room is comfy and look modern. The pillows are so nice, I like it a lot. The staff can speak English! Thank you!

JapanI didn't realize it was unmanned, which probably reflects its affordability. I would rather book a hotel with a front desk staff.

United KingdomThe room are the average size for a Japanese business hotel, but it was clean and comfortable. The entrance of the hotel is in front of the metro station and 1 stop from Hakata Station. Also very close to some main sightseeings. The staff is polite and helpful when contacted. Thanks

PhilippinesFor security purposes, I just wished that the hotel will enforce the use of the key card to all point of entries. That only those with key cards get to access the 2nd floor, the elevator. But nonetheless, I still felt secured throughout the 29 days of stay.
Stayed here for 29 nights, I love the facilities, value for money, few minutes walk to hakata to other tourist landmarks. I admire the cleanliness of the hotel, the friendliness of the staff, the 2nd floor area where you can chill while doing people watching. Close to ichiran, there's a famous coffee shop in the same building and a many more must visit shops.
