Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaJust the location. If you don’t have a car it’s hard to get around. We didn’t mind walking although it can be a challenge. Be aware it’s hard to catch a taxi as Kawaguchiko is so busy with tourists. Also the ‘hot tub’ is just a bath. But again, we didn’t mind.
Great property, even better staff. We were travelling with our 2 year old and everyone was so nice. They even supplied baby soap, toothbrush, cloth etc They provide a complimentary transfer to the train station or bus station. They provide bath salts which made the bath feel fancy!

SingaporeThe narrow road leading to villa was a bit of a harrowing experience at first. Once you are familiar with the road, it is fine.
The 3-bedroom villa was clean, very spacious and well equipped for our group of 4 friends. View of majestic Fujiyama was simply breathtaking especially when we had clear skies for most part of our 3 day stay in Kawaguchiko. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

AustraliaThere is not a single thing we didn’t like as we came back again :)
Everything was exactly as described and in fact this is our second stay at Grand Villa Toki. We came last year and stayed a night at the villa. The location is great, very close to attractions and shops. The advanced technology in the villa is a bonus too. Staff made you feel very welcomed. The Fuji view from the rooftop was spectacular.

SingaporeCleanliness wasn't perfect. The baby gate guard provided was dirty, a simple machine wash could have made it clean. Additionally the carpet feels like it needs some deep cleaning. Otherwise it is still acceptable in general. The stairs may be steep for elders. So they are likely to stay on the ground floor if they do not wish to climb the stairs. The individual parking lot can be tricky for some drivers as it is quite a tight space to navigate. Also the entrance to the compound is also quite tight. So best to watch out when entering and exiting. More in-room instructions on operating the bathtub will be appreciated, as we had to randomly press and try the different combinations on the panel to figure out how to fill the tub.
Well equipped kitchen and pre-pepared baby gate guard, baby high chair, baby cutlery set and a baby welcome kit. Having 2 separate rooms on separate floors, and equipped with additional warmers on each floor/room to help in heating up the rooms during the sudden drop of autumn nights. It is also interesting that if you opt out for cleaning (as we were only staying for 2 nights), you can get a 2000 yen voucher to spend at the hotel reception for drinks or souvenirs. We also did enjoy that coffee and tea plus bath salts/essential oil are available for guests to take back from the reception to enjoy it at the accommodation.

They have a kitchen that comes with a fridge, a microwave, a coffee grinder, coffee beans, coffee drip tools, electric stove and all necessary utensils. The breakfast is also very nice.

ItalyGetting to the place on foot is dangerous and there is no sidewalk on the sides of the road. So you need to get a taxi even for the supermarket. You can heard the kids from the Fuji High Q land during the day and the evening.
Everything was good. The apartment was well equipped. We liked it!! The staff helped us a lot and provided a shuttle service at the end of the stay.

AustraliaBreakfast is a little simple. Description said view of Mt Fuji. Our Villa had obstructed partial view. I guess this depends on which villa you stay.
Our regular villa is very spacious for two, it would work comfortably for a group of four people. Two twin beds and a double bed. Two full bathrooms and two toilets. Ok location, 10mins walk to train station, 30mins walk to the lake. Staff is very friendly. Loved the roof top. Partial view of Mt Fuji from roof top. Fully equipped kitchen is very useful.
