Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandExtremely uncomfortable bed! I got a top bunk in the female dorm and it felt like sleeping on a bare wooden plank, I'm 32 and relatively fit but I struggled to get any sleep at all and in the morning my back and hips were screaming in agony. Also the complimentary shampoo and conditioner was really poor quality, it left my hair in a tangled mess :( Next time in Fukuoka I'll sadly look for a different place to stay.
Great location for my morning ferry to Busan, as it's a 20min walk to the ferry port. A lovely, traditional decor with tatami-covered floors and original wooden rafters. They were happy to accept my luggage before the check in time.

FranceIt's really comfortable to be in this guesthouse and spacious. We can use the washing machine freely, very helpful 👍. If you want to go to Busan (South Korea) by boat, the ferry terminal is at 15 minutes around on foot. Thank you 😊

United KingdomThough it is a dorm, no place for anything, expect just the bed to sleep. No space on the corridor, very small shower room. Slightly overpriced.
Quiet location near the port. Nice staff.

ChinaConsidering this is a house instead of a hotel, there is only one restroom for each male and female and two shower rooms. Not much convenient if you use in rush hour in the morning or evening.
If you would like to experience living in a traditional Japanese house, this would be a good choice, located in a quiet neighborhood, within walkable distance to the bus station; convenience stores are nearby. The kitchen can be used by guests at any time. Didn't get the chance to know about the staff there, but based on the intro note they post on the front desk, they are passionate about what they are doing, one staff I met on the day I left was quite friendly and helpful.

United KingdomThe location was a little bit awkward if you wanted to go areas like Tenjin for the nightlife - it took a fair amount of time on public transport. Good for the port though!
Such a cosy hostel! It felt very communal and the check in staff were friendly and helpful. They were very helpful and kept my bag while I stayed in another city for the night

GermanyVery great Hostel for connecting and getting to know people. The Staff was so welcoming and nice. I felt immediately welcome. Everything was clean. The shared space with the kitchen and lounge is small but very cozy. Go to this Hostel when you are in Fukuoka especially if you travel alone and want to connect with others.

GermanyThe building is old and therefore not soundproof at all. You can hear food steps from the upper level and everything that your room mates do at night. Also the men's toilet has a weird slit to the window, from where you could look into the bathroom
In walkable distance to the harbor to and from Busan. It was generally clean and the staff was helpful and nice.

Very clean. Staff are friendly. Dorm bed had small shelf, lamp and a hook and coat hanger for jackets. Dorm also had a rack for clothes and a mini fridge. Close to the International Port, so perfect if you’re going to or from Busan, which I did.

United StatesFar from main train station in Fukouka. Found buses challenging there- there was a bus stop a 3-4 min walk away. Older building so did have to make effort to tiptoe so didn't cause creaking of floors when moved around (we were upstairs). Walls quite thin but everyone there very respectful.
Good value. Super clean. Had nice private room but toilets/shower were downstairs.

United StatesI sleep well at night but often hearing noise from people who come back late. I’m also one of those people, so it’s hard to keep super quiet. In the end, I preplanned my stuff when I came back midday so that my luggage zipper didn’t wake anyone early in the morning or late at night. It was annoying to be woken up by someone else’s small alarm.
Cheap and close to the Fukuoka Conference center. Within a neighborhood that was nice and quiet. I like the privacy screens and personal lamp. Showers were both great and clean.

SwedenPeople keep drinking around the kitchen area until very late in the night. Talks can be heard from the rooms, even after midnight. I have to say that this happened to us during the weekend. So... use earplugs if you want to have a good sleep. One morning (around 5 am), I met a drunk guy sleeping in the male's toilet. He was just there, sitting and sleeping with open doors. Hahahahaha

United StatesThe top bunks get really toasty on a hot and sunny day, and depending on where your bunk is located, it didn’t feel like the air conditioning quite circulates the air to the top of the room. I had bed A in the female only guest room, and it definitely felt stuffy. There’s also not a lot of vibrational dampening in the beds so movement on lower bunks or the building can be felt. You have to put on the bedding they provide and strip the sheets as part of checkout, but the blanket they give you doesn’t have a cover so it wasn’t clear if it gets regularly laundered?
Great value at a great location if you need to get to Hakata Port - only 10-15 minutes walk. Staff were super friendly and social.
