Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

SingaporeGreat location - a short bus ride away from Kanazawa station. Unlike Kyoto, we were able to bring our 20-inch suitcases into the bus. Pleasant apartment - it was spacious and had whatever you need for a wonderful stay in Kanazawa. Lastly, the room was clean and well-maintained.

United KingdomThe downside was that it is at a busy street and traffic starts early at 5am or 6am. If you are an early bird person this should be fine.
Great location, you can walk to the samurai district within 5 minutes. High street also very close as is the castle and gardens. Comfy bed. Big room enough for 3 people. Lovely owner.

GermanyLocation is good, accessible by bus or long walk. Be careful what time of year you visit: The room felt very cold (end of March). Even though I turned on the AC to full blast, the cold wind was coming in from the not airtight windows :(. The greeting/welcoming felt a little impersonal. But the host was available by texting.
The room was big, cutely decorated, super clean and had everything you need. It felt very private.

For one person, it was great and very roomy. Nice to have a washing machine and drying rack on site. Close to downtown with great earing choices and close to all tourist sites. Great having fridge and small kitchen there. It's an mini apartment and very convenient and a nice change from capsule hotels.

JapanPerhaps I did not see it, but there was no room user manual. You need to remember to start the water heater manually from outside the bathroom to get hot water. Also, I was not used to adjusting my shower water through 2 tap heads. It was slightly challenging for me, but I quickly learned how to adjust my water to a consistent temperature without fluctuating too much between being too hot and too cold. Just something small to keep in mind; it was, otherwise, an extremely pleasant stay at M's Kanazawa.
Michiyo-san was very hospitable and helpful over text leading up to and during my stay itself. She kindly accommodated my late check-in and explained things clearly to me whenever I had any queries. The bed and pillow were so soft and comfortable, great after a long day out travelling. The futon blanket/duvet was extremely fluffy and warm, perfect for the cold weather during which I stayed. The location was extremely easy to find and despite facing the road, the room was rather well insulated from the traffic noise.

JapanIt was a little small for 4 people, but still manageable! You don't have much privacy whilst using the shower or the toilet as they look directly onto the lounge/ bedding area so if you aren't close friends/ family, it may be hard to find any privacy.
Very convenient and close to everything! Super clean too!
