Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe common area was a little small and didn't allow for a lot of comfort but most guests don't spend a lot of time in this area anyway.
The beds were comfortable and the rooms clean. There was only one shower downstairs but I never had an issue clashing with other gusts for it. The host was extremely welcoming and friendly.

Singapore6-bunk room is too small for travellers with several large luggage. Hope each user is allowed only 1 large luggage. Bunk is a little shaky whenever upper bunk user moves. Will choose same property again!Hope situation improves when I return😊.

Good Location for stay. Our family can walk to anywhere. Around the host easy to find mini-mart , 7-11 or family mart. Have a park and Sumiyoshi Shrine near the host !!!

JapanBecause there’s a little gap above and below the door, it can get a little loud at night if other people are moving around or snoring (but for the affordable price we paid and the location, this wasn’t a huge problem).
The property was in a super convenient location, which was exactly what we were looking for!! It’s only 20 minutes from the airport by train and within walking distance of Canal City and other tourist attractions. My friend and I went together and our bunk bed was in a small closed room, so it was easy to have some privacy even in the shared dorm.

GermanyThe rooms were connected with big squared holes over the door so that the aircon could reach all rooms from the hallway. Didn't really felt like a private because light and noise will get in the room more easily. But I would say for the price it's manageable.
Really nice host and the short walk to Hakata station is really convenient!

Bunk beds very weak, unsteady while every little move, no curtain for upper deck beds. washbasin only in shower rooms, not enough for people who only brush teeth, wash face. exposed kitchen waste bucket on the ground of the kitchen.
very friendly staff in day shift. change indoor slippers at the entrance. good air-conditioning. at the entrance of the room, one vanity with cotton swabs; and cabinets for each. every bed: bed light, sockets, clothes hangers.

United StatesBeing a hostel, you will get other guests whose voices carry in the wee hours of the morning and night. The walls were pretty thin. You can hear when someone is in the living room talking on their phone, or upstairs in their own room. If you got in late it's near impossible to see anything without a flashlight, maybe some glow in the dark tape to avoid toes getting hurt. I often kept running into other people's luggage in the dark room. Nothing was labeled for which bed, which space for your luggage is yours. As a solo traveler, I didn't want to move other people's belongings, so maybe some sort of label for where you should put your luggage.
I liked how it was close to Hakata station and not too far where I needed to meet friends for my brief stay. It is in a great location that's tucked away, food close by along with the conbini's within walking distance. Everything was clearly written out. I enjoyed seeing the map of things to do. I would suggest adding cheap food locations for quick and easy snacks. The room I stayed in (6 bunk bed room), the bed given to me was great as it was on the bottom.

JapanThe bathroom facilities were a little small but that's typical for a Japanese house. Not much room to move about in the rooms.
The location wasn't right in the centre but easily reachable by bus or walking. The staff were lovely and the bed was so comfortable.

JapanI think that a light for each individual bed would have been good so that when others needed to be sleep the lights could be turned out.
The location was fantastic, I really liked the cupboard with boxes for us to put our toiletries, and the owner brought us a hanging rail for our clothes. The facalities were clean and easy to use. The owner and other members of staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay.

IndiaBunk beds were making noises whenever someone changes the sleeping posture, I was awake whole night due to this and reluctant to change my posture so, others couldn’t disturb. They make so much money during rush weekend bookings due to doubling the prices then why not investing in good quality of sleeping beds. These bunk beds were of lower standards than Vietnam hostel beds. They knew that I don’t know Chinese language but still the owner was playing on the TV with some sound.. why? Isn’t that TV for guests? If you want to watch Chinese TV shows then watch on your phone or personal iPad, why a guest can’t watch his English channels? Why do you control the TV remote? The owner was controlling everything and talking to his friends, I was feeling too much isolated and ignored, he was all the time in that sofa cum eating area cum seating area but never asked me about myself. I was still working on my phone in the living area but he switched off the lights, why Sir? Isn’t it a guest house meant to stay and operate phone, do some works peacefully? After checkin he told me to go in your bed, really.. why should I sleep at 4PM? I came to meet people, talk to them, learn language and cultures.
Lady at reception was super nice and friendly, this guest house could attract all repeat guests due to her politeness, friendly and welcoming behavior. I wish, we can see her all the times in the guest house and helping customers with her smile. They were super helpful in storing my luggage for little extra time but the gentleman had reminded me multiple times for that help even I told him that I was unable to see temples due to trains.

MalaysiaThe toilet on the 2nd floor was really dirty during our stay, looked like someone had a stomach upset and didn't clean up. For the dormitories, it would have been nice to have curtains around the bed for privacy and to avoid disturbing others with the light. For the family room, it is okay but quite difficult to have a 6 person family room share only one toilet and shower on the floor with another 4 or 6 males in the dormitory.
The host was very friendly and kind, and helpful too. She even helped with our luggage. She explained everything very well. The location is good, walking distance from Hakata Station.

United KingdomThe hostel in general felt a bit cramped and I found the close proximity of the toilet (without it's own hand basin) right next to the kitchen area a bit disconcerting... it seemed the only place to wash your hands in the area, esp. if the shower rooms were already being used, which is not ideal from a hygiene point of view.
The location of this hostel was really convenient to Hakata station - super easy to get to and checking in response (as I was arriving a little after 9pm) was very quick and reassured me I would get in ok.

JapanThe shared bathroom and toilet could have been cleaner and, nothing outrageous, but overall there was a bit of a scruffy atmosphere.
I don't know why, but I found the bed really comfortable. The hotel is also close to the station, although in a bit of a back alley, and the check-in check-out went smoothly.
