SpainWe had such a wonderful stay in Goco Hotel. We booked the smallest room and for us it was clearly enough. The hosts are so kind, always welcoming and happy to answer your questions and to give recomendations (restaurants, locations, etc.). Free water and coffe in the entrance. If you need an umbrella, they can borrow you one as well. Location is fantastic, we visited most of the places on foot. If we come back to Kyoto, we will not hesitate to stay in Goco Stay again.

I stayed in the double bed room. Compact but functional, clean, with a washing machine and detergent. The staff were so helpful and gave us extra blankets and a cutting knife to borrow when we needed it. I saw them helping another group search for nearby restaurants. There's a free water dispenser downstairs and they give you a glass pitcher to keep in your fridge. Free coffee and tea too. Location is very convenient but also tucked away in a side street so it wasn't noisy at all. There is a terrace on the 5th floor with tables and umbrellas. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to stay in central Kyoto near Kyoto Kawaramachi station.

The property was located in a really great location by Nishiki market as well as located by a lot of shopping and not too far from the famous Gion district. It was fun to walk around our area and we really enjoyed the vintage shops near by and it was easy to get to all of the tourist attractions that we wanted to see. Another thing that I really liked about this stay was the cold water in the lobby that you could bring back to your room. Often walking around and sweating so much you can easily become dehydrated so it was great to have access to filtered cold water and it was very refreshing. What really set this experience apart was the customer service though here. First off the staff here all speaks a really impressive level of English. It was so easy to talk to them and they were always friendly and smiling. Very refreshing after staying at many different hotels. The older gentleman there was a highlight of our trip and experience in Kyoto. He really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and recommended us stuff to do that we found fun and fulfilling. He was also really excellent at giving us directions and was able to tell us the best routes to places that google maps wasn’t able to. It was extremely helpful when we were leaving and my phone was about to die, he offered to let us stay and charge it but he also wrote down the directions and transfers to where we needed to go to. This was crucial for our trip after my phone died to getting to our next hotel and I really appreciate his kindness.

Hotel is centrally located - near Shijo Kawaramachi Shopping district, Kawaramachi Station, Nishiki Market, Shijo-Gion. Facilities is clean and the beds are comfortable. Other best thing is the washing machine & drier available in every room which makes it very convenient to do your laundry.. Staff are courteous and helpful. They make sure that we got the correct direction to places we're going. In fact, the manager (or the owner) even accompanied us to Kawaramachi Station to help us get the right train/tickets to Kansai Airport. EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE!!!!!!

The hotel was very well located, right next to Nishiki market, the Teramachi shopping centre, and a major shopping street. We were able to walk to Gion in 10-15 min and there were many restaurants around. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, always happy to give recommendations and even booked a table at a fantastic izakaya for us. The room was the most spacious we've had in Japan, and was clean and quiet.
