Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIndoor common spaces are limited to 2 large tables with seating for 8 to 10 persons and several bar stools. Generally fine, but expect congestion with other guests in inclement weather when sitting on the expansive outside terrace is not a viable option.
Great location across from the beach and a reasonable walk to a drugstore with groceries and a convenience store. Room split AC system. Daily included breakfast is above average and sized just right, and other available meals are also very good. Nearby bus stops for transportation to either Kamakura or Zushi train stations.

PolandOk, this was my mistake mostly, but this is more a hostel or capsule than a proper hotel, the showers andrestrooms are shared and the rooms are small are only have the beds. The "ocean view" is just a medium window on a first floor that indeed looks into the ocean but you cannot even sit there because there is your bed. The personel was ok, not extra friendly but not rude. It is not a bad place, just was not what I expected, I should have read the description better, but also the pictures are a little tricky.

United KingdomThe value for money on the room specifically felt particularly poor. The rooms are really tiny for the price we paid. As soon as you open the room door, you literally face the bed, a bit like a capsule hotel. I don’t think the photos show this adequately and we expected a bit more space. It was really uncomfortable to use the room, it was only two of us and we were struggling to even just open our suitcases, let alone to get ready in the morning.
- The staff was very welcoming and helpful - The tasty breakfast included - Views of the beach from the room window and the hotel terrace are lovely - Shared bathroom facilities are good and kept clean at all times - Location is good to enjoy the beach and reach other areas of Kamakura too (either by bus or walk)

United StatesIf you are not comfortable being seen by the restaurant customers or sharing facilities with others, this place is not for you. The rooms are right off the kitchen/dining area of the restaurant so you will be seen going back and forth from the bathrooms/showers. I wouldn’t recommend there being more than two people to a room because it is literally just a room for the bed.
Right across the street from the beach so you can watch the sunrise/sunset and people watch. The location was convenient for us to walk across all of Kamakura. The staff were very sweet and tried their best to communicate to us and make sure we were comfortable. The bed was comfortable and they give you fresh towels every morning which is nice because you will be covered in sand from walking around.

United StatesThe rooms are literally just a capsule. Bunk Beds in a tiny space. No room for us to open our suitcase except on the bed. However, that said, we spent most of our time outside. I think I should have done a bit more research before I booked.
The staff were wonderful. Right near the beach. Great breakfast and accommodated our western palette. Showers and bathrooms are detached from room and shared with other guests. Still they were very clean and superb shower power.

United KingdomThere wasn't a tremendous amount to move around in the room, but I've got a lot of luggage with me so take that into consideration. I guess 20 minutes away from the station but I loved walking through Kamakura so it wasn't a huge issue for me.
The staff were absolutely lovely. Very helpful. Breakfast was nice. The bed was comfortable. On the seafront and about a 20 min walk away from Kamakura station. Shared toilet which was separated from the shared shower. There were about 8 rooms in my area, I believe there are two areas but they are completely separate from one another, each area has different bathrooms and toilets and sinks. In my area there were two toilets, two sinks, two nicely sized and good shower rooms. I was very pleasantly surprised by this. Laundry machines available. Towels provided as well as a bottle of water which I thought was lovely. If I'm ever back in Kamakura I'll definitely think of staying here again.

TaiwanFor self check-in, the staff asked me to call them for more information. However, like must of foreign visitors, I don't have a local phone number. I think they need a process to lead visitors via mail/message instead of phone call.
The room and shared area are clean. The staff are really nice. Love the scene from both my room and the balcony. The location of this hotel is far from the train station. From the Kamakura train station, you need to take a bus and walk around 5 to 10 mins, across a quiet residence area to it. It's kind of scary in the night. However, I believe that it's safe in Kamakura. I don't think it's a downside to this hotel.

JapanEntrance was confusing as the “lobby” is basically a cafe/bar that shares the same floor as another one. I didn’t realise it was a shared shower (they have two but one was broken) and toilet with everyone else which makes the price feel a little too expensive for what you get.
Lovely location and staff. If surfing is what you live for you’d be hard pressed to find better.
