I had read reviews about how good the hosts Li and Linda were, and it was all true and better ! They were so kind and helpful doing night tours laundry recommendations. I can't rate them highly enough. I am so glad I stayed there instead of a hotel.

On top of the great location, Li is a generous host who made me and my friend feel so welcomed at his guesthouse! He has so many good local recommendations, and also took us on a night tour to see the many sights. The small touches and thoughtful additions to the amenities like free laundry service, make up removal wipes and creams, new toothbrush, access to sanitary pads also made it so ideal for me. I think this is a great place, especially for women travelling like me :)

Nothing, everything was perfect !

Mr and Mrs Li are super great hosts, the best I have ever seen so far in all my travels. Everything was thought of (I mean everything u would need while traveling, it felt like staying at a good friend’s place. The beds were confortable and the kitchen was well equipped, the Japanese shower and bath was great !), they even gladly showed us around in the city and gave valuable recommendations for Sakura season.

Everything, communication was great, the host is very friendly and the hospitality is next level. They gave a tour for guests, free laundry service, everything extremely clean, excellent recommendations for restaurants and attractions. They gave me cute souvenirs and I leave my bag the entire day after checking out. The best place and host you can have :) thanks to you my time in Kyoto was great

The kitchen(common area) is not that big

It's really close to the Kiyomizu temple and many restaurants and cafes are reachable in 10 minutes. And good connection with the city bus. Even though it's quite central, it's in a quite area so you can rest quietly. Everything was super clean and comfortable. Especially the hosts are really friendly and thanks to them, I could see early cherry blossoms which I didn't expect because it was quite early. The bed was also cozy. The room is not that big but you have everything you need there. There were all kinds of cleansing stuffs so I didn't need to bring anything for washing(literally everything). The night tour that I had was awesome. I could visit many places which I didn't plan to, and they brought me to a really nice night view spots. It was rainy on the second day and my shoes got totally wet. And the host dried my shoes and socks so I could go around later with fresh shoes and socks. Overall really nice and comfortable stay and I would like to stay here again if I visit Kyoto later :)

The hosts were super friendly and helpful! I got many great recommendations for plum blossoms in Kyoto and Li even offers his own guided tours. The bathroom had everything you could wish for and there was a free tea bar in the kitchen. I had a great stay!

There is no toilet in the room or upper floor. As a result I need to drag myself out of the bed and walk downstairs.

The location of hostel was great. It was super close to the Ninenzaka. As a result, I could enjoy the early morning and midnight when there was almost no one here. The room is small but all the facilities were lovely and decent. And it is close to the public baths, that was quite a special experience. The hosteller was knowledgeable about the attractions in Kyoto and places nearby. He was so willing to share the scenery and stories behind.

The hospitality of Mr and Mrs. Li was exceptional. We really felt at home in our travels there and well looked-after. It is clean, quiet and comfortable and very much like staying at someone's Japanese home (that is, the stairs are steep, tatami rooms, ofuro/shower downstairs and toilet with toilet slippers, etc.) We really liked the location which made it easy to get around the city of Kyoto. The guesthouse is close to Kiyomizudera and Kiyomizu Gojo subway stop. We recommend getting the optional Japanese breakfast at a nearby restaurant. We would definitely stay here again.

Amazing host Li was the nicest and most helpful, good-natured person we met in Japan! Me, my husband and my sister really enjoyed our stay in Kyoto. The location was wonderful and Li was very helpful with his suggestions of things to see (not to mention his amazing photographs, which he gave us copies of). He also took us to see a view of the city lights at night, which was magical. Highly recommend this place for a truly memorable stay in Kyoto! Will always remember this place very fondly.

The hostel area of the guesthouse is quite cramped with barely any room for suitcases. For four people, it was definitely a squeeze. There also isn’t a common area so you end up chatting around the small kitchen and bathroom. Somehow you get used to all this, but if someone is traveling with loads of luggage and planning to stay in the dorms, better to get a single room.

This may be one of my favourite hostel/guesthouse experiences to date. Every guest is made to feel welcome by Li and Lily, and they truly bend over backwards to ensure you are comfortable and have all you need. I was blown away by their hospitality. The location was excellent and easy to get to the main spots in Kyoto.

The host, Li, was just the cutest man ever. Everything is meant in a way that you feel like you are visiting family friends in Kyoto. I really felt at home there and nothing was missing. Don't hesitate to go with Li to spot the geishas at night, it was super fun!
