The room is clean and minimalistic but this is exactly how I imagined a ryokan. Staff are very friendly. Toilets and bathrooms are organized very well even while they are shared. WiFi works well. Close to station and lake Kawaguchiko. Strongly recommend, will most likely come back to experience the calmness. Additionally possible to affordably rent a bike.

The walls are very thin, so if you're unlucky with your neighbours like we were you might end up listening to all their dirty little secrets. This of course is not a fault of the host, but rather a problem with some people forgetting to be considerate of others. It's a bit better organised for women than for men. The male bathroom & showers are quite far from the rooms (unlike women's).

The best sleep of my life! There's something magical about tatami floors & futon. I was falling asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow (despite very loud French people in the next room). Very close to the station. Very good electric bicycles for rent (cheaper if you stay at the guest house)

It could have been a bit cleaner, but then again it is a guesthouse and not a hotel.

The location is amazing, just across the road from the station. The staff offered to hold our luggage after checkout at no extra cost and are generally very nice. Toilets and showers were spotless throughout our stay.

The location is great - super close to the station and to a couple of popular spots. The guesthouse is clean, comfortable and the staff is very helpful. A special thank you to Masaki - he helped me with my heavy luggage and called to Mishima station to figure out if I can buy JR tickets at the station without making prior reservation.

Staff were amazing, so helpful and kind also smiling all the time. Room and facilities were spotless clean, (we also saw the cleaning process after checkout, girls were great at their job) Bathrooms were always packed with face cleaning items, creams, cotton pads etc. There are hot / cold drinking water and kettles and cups in public area. ( did not need kitchen, don’t know if there is one) Guesthouse is 2 minutes walk from the main bus and train station (also daily buses run from there) which was so handy considering we were at the centre of everything. 5 min walk to nice restaurants, lawson ( the one with Fuji view), 7/11. Weather was cold outside in Fuji (5-10 degrees) but room had an aircon and it was always warm inside.

Great location, very close to train station. We loved being able to rent the electric bikes right at our doorstep. The pillows were really good. The communal fridge and cutlery/crockery were great.

There was a strong humidity smell in the room and it was very unpleasant. However, the room was clean , the bathrooms clean as well.

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. It's also great you can rent a bike, and the location is perfect, super close to the train station.

The mattress was not the most comfortable and the walls tooooo thin. I can hear my friend talking with normal voice in our room when I was in the toilet next door - hear her loud and clear. Ohh .. I didn’t enjoy waiting for the hot water in the shower but otherwise love the place more.

The location was the reason I chose it. Didn’t want lug luggage too far. They have all the necessary facilities prepared in place. We checked out early but they helped store our luggage to pick up later which saved us on locker. Nearby to the place has got a lot of nice eateries. It exceeded my expectations. our room was spacious.

Not really a dislike, more an enhancement to the room.... possibility of adding a small mirror in the room ( it could be hidden in the cupboards so as not to ruin the aesthetics of the Japanese style room)

The staff were really helpful and understood English. The location of the guesthouse is superb, just across from the bus station. They have tea and coffee freely available in the corridor across from the rooms, plus a microwave and water(hot and cold) to use downstairs. Our first experience of using a Japanese style room and we took advantage of being able to use extra bedding in our room which made sleeping on the tatami mats very comfortable. The quilt was so warm and cozy and the pillows were amazing! 😀 The seating area is very handy for eating wonderful food bought at the 7/11 around the corner. The ladies bathroom was well equipped with hairdryers and toiletries. Take advantage of using their cycles for hire and cycle around the lake and surrounding streets.

The family room was rather smell of damp when we came in, but still ok for futon experience with fam. The que for bath may take some time.

Location is so close with eki. Morning staff male is friendly with smile and telling us to pay the bike (when we came back in the noon, they were all rent out), shower room female 3, toilet 2 (2nd floor)
