Cozy old style house with a little garden. It has one common space where you can hang out. The staff is super helpful and nice. As soon as I arrived they showed me a map and recommended what to do based on the weather.

Our host introduced the house in English, and took time to show a map of the most popular tourist areas with instructions (in English) to get there. It was fantastic and the rooms were clean and well kept. 10/10 would recommend. Great location next to Nijojo (the Shogun's castle/home) and a grocery store.

It was exactly as I expected, other reviews were very accurate as to the few quirks with the bathroom/shower and room layout. The owner was friendly and kind, helpful and accommodating. You can come and go as you please after checking in. Great value if you are looking for a budget option in Kyoto and plan to spend most of your time away from the hotel.

It’s a bit small and everyone shares one bathroom and shower. They are kept very clean it can just be a hassle if many people want to use it at the same time but not a big deal.

The location is very close to some of the main tourist spots (Nijo castle, Nishiki market, walkable distance to or from Pontocho as well!) Very cozy traditional style house - a great way to try living in one without spending lots of money. The host is very friendly and helpful: gave me an advice on the best way to get to the bamboo grove, and also recommended going to the Fushimi Inari Shrine in the evening because it was illuminated while I was staying in Kyoto (something you probably wouldn't have known as a tourist unless you specifically looked for it).

A lovely guest house with an awesome host. The place is clean and the facilities are nice and tidy. The host knows English well and is very helpful (he even gives you a quick guide to the main attractions in Kyoto. The common room is also really lovely, a perfect place to chill and meet other guests. Overall a great experience!

I had a perfect stay in this guest house. Very well located, close to transport. A SevenEleven is a 5-minute walk away. The house is clean and welcoming. The host gave very good advice on visits to do. He is a kind person. You are here in a house that lives, not in a luxury hotel. It’s maintained, modern, authentic and comfortable. There is everything you need here. I will come back to this accommodation with pleasure
