NetherlandsI wanted a hotel near the station for a one week stay. This can be a gamble, going sight unseen somewhere. The hotel exceeded my basic needs and expectations. The room was spacious enough to make a one week stay enjoyable, space to rest and relax after a day's sightseeing. The hotel is a new build, so the soundproofing was good.

Hong KongThere should be towels provided in the hot spring as I had to bring my in-room towel (could never dry in time). Also, there should be a clock inside the hot spring (there is only one in the changing area).
Opposite of the JR station but you need to pass the underground tunnel (exit D) - there is no crossing on ground level. Rooms were new and quite big (can fully open suitcase and have space to walk. There is an artificial hot spring which was nice and you can view the crowd status from your in-room TV.

SingaporeThe smoking smell at the lobby area and the lift. Smoking room is right next to the lifts and the lobby area and the lift smell like cigarettes. The smell really put me off.
Great location just opposite the station. Convenience store just next to the hotel as well. Staffs are very very helpful and friendly. My friend left her scarf at an Onsen Ryokan in Tamatsukuri Onsen and a staff called them for us to check if they found a scarf. When we asked a nice cafe near the hotel, she copied a map and circled the cafe on the map and gave the map to me. The staffs went the extra miles to help us. Big bath is also very nice although it's an artificial Onsen.

Hotel is opposite the train station and rooms are clean and adequate. Onsen was clean and new but small on the women's side. Good sushi restaurant next door.

Exceeded expectations. Large size room ( we booked a single room for a couple). Very clean and modern. Towels were larger than the usual small size for a Japanese hotel stay. Hotel is located across the road from the station/ take underpass outside station (next to information building) to cross the road. Very friendly staff. Little English but enough to be able to communicate effectively. Matsue Castle within walking distance - fairly flat although you can take the no. 7 bus from the bus depot outside the train station.
