Location is very convenient, just few minutes walk from Miyanoshita station. Kana is a GREAT host. She will provide great recommendations and make you feel very welcome.

Kana the host was so lovely and can help with booking onsens and daily activities. She is so caring towards her guests and the hostel is so well looked after. We stayed in the japanese style room and it was so comfy and cosy and it felt very traditional. The shared space downstairs is so lovely in the sun and the free flowing coffee and tea is a bonus. The hostel is also very close to convenience stores and bus stops which makes it very easy to get around.

Unfortunately had roommates who packed their cases at 5.30am until after 7am, instead of packing them the night before . so loud ! Not hostel fault but maybe be clear what noise curfew time finishes and packing is included as it's so loud My pillow was very small

There was a family with kids occupying most of the dorm, which was a little odd for the remaining guy and myself... Not the responsibility of the management obviously.

Kana is such a good person, she makes everyone feel at home straight ahead. She's the soul of this place. Very comfy dorm and beds.

Kana was extremely friendly and helpful on planning our activities in Hakone. We were allowed to cook there. The bed was comfortable and the house cozy.

We had a private room, but the curtains were not great so the sun would wake you up early in the morning.

The host, Kana-san was the BEST! So helpful with everything, she gave us so much advice on what to do in the area and even planned our itinerary for us! At one point we were waiting at the bus stop and she ran out to suggest a change of plan. She is a very sweet person, very interested in foreign cultures and chatting to us about all sorts.

It was really easy to get to know people in this hostel. I booked the single room japanese style but was not cut off from the social gathering happening in the living room. There is free green tea and coffee. But the most amazing aspect was that Kana (Staff member) was helping so much and always tried to think about how she can make our stay better. Even I was there only for a day it really felt like a home thanks to Kana. Thank you so much!

The beds weren't the most comfortable, but it's a very small complaint given the rest of the experience.

Kana, the host, was absolutely amazing. She let us check in early, booked us private onsens, helped us make dinner reservations, and gave us all the ins and outs about the area. She helped us navigate the busses and told us where to go to get the perfect view of Mt Fuji. She is such a wonderful host.

the hostel building itself is a charming old building with lots of character, in an amazing location with transport, restaurants and attractions nearby. What makes this place so special is the host Kana-San. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about the Hakone area, and can help you make reservations for restaurants or the nearby onsens as well as give you guides to great nearby hiking spots.

I had an amazing experience here! The room itself was beautiful and clean. The host, Kana-san, was so accommodating - my sandals fell apart as I was walking around Hakone, so she went out and bought superglue so I could fix them! She also helped me to book an onsen. 100% recommended

Kana is GREAT, helpful and welcoming. She gave us useful tips and booked the best onsen around. The building is stunning, an old post office that keeps the charm. The common area is also cozy, provided with coffee and tea. The rooms are old style, comfy with good views.

We stayed in the private room with private bathroom. The bathroom is a toilet and sink only. If you want to shower, you will have to use the shared showers or, like us, shower at the onsen. Honestly, the shared toilets are nicer than the private one but you have access to both. They have a little shared kitchen you can use and the main front room where you can hang out, eat, read, etc. The host was so super nice and friendly. She will give you tips on places to eat and things to do. She also called and made an onsen reservation for us. The beds on the floor are actually more comfortable than most of the raised beds and mattresses we slept on in japan. Definitely would recommend this hostel.

The 2-person pods were so nice. It was the best stay in our trip, even though we didn;t have a private room. The pods were cozy, the common space very nice, bathing facilities very nice and host couldn't be nicer.

Very cool beds with sliding doors. Felt historical. But most importantly the woman at reception was extremely kind and friendly! She helped us book an onsen nearby and gave us a map with good places to eat/go. I would purposefully choose to stay here again.

Nothing. Everything was great.

Our host, Kana, was fantastic. We loved chatting with her and she also helped us plan our time there. She helped book us an onsen within walking distance from the hostel and informed us about closures of the cruise when it was raining. We booked a larger Japanese style room that had a little balcony and it felt quite luxurious for a hostel. Will absolutely stay here again if we go back!
