Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeWe happened to be in the end of skiing season 2024 (late March), so most of ski lifts, restaurants nearby were closed and we had to walk down to the town centre every evening for dinner or shopping.
Privacy, and country style of separate lodge we stayed in. Location is good for reaching various ski lifts by shuttle bus, otherwise a bit remote from most of attractions.

Singaporethe walls are really thin and walking up and down the stairs makes a lot of noises. even walking on the second storey creates so much noise that it affects those who are sleeping below. the hot water for bathing is available for use but not consistent. sometimes while bathing, the water can become cold and i have to wait for a minute or so for the hot water to be replenished again.
great location. near the ski lifts and other rental shops. it has a private entrance as well and it feels really homely! hot water is available and many cooking utensils are also available for use.

United StatesIt was outdated, the bath would flood and the water pressure was low. The place reeked of cigarette smoke and the heater was only in the main bedroom meaning the rest of the house was cold. The parking situation was a mud pit but at least we could park.
The proximity to ski area was close enough to walk, located close to eating areas and pet friendly was a plus.

Hong KongThe heater in the bedroom was a very old air conditioner. It was extremely noisy and did not heat up the room at all. It needs to be replaced. It was the major reason why we didn’t enjoy our stay there because we just couldn’t sleep well.
We stayed in one of the chalet buildings. It was big and spacious, it was close to ski rental, Happo One ski resort, onsen and there was easy free parking.

Singaporethere was a male staff, I believe his name was Diago. especially poor attitude. we got to Hakuba at about 630pm and was intending to take the shuttle bus to the accom, however the buses were no longer operating. it was snowing heavily and I called the lodge to check if we could get a last minute transfer to the lodge. granted, it was last minute, but Diago was very rude when rejecting our request. second incident when my friend injured herself on the mountain of day 1, I called the lodge to check if we could get a transfer with the lodge vehicle to the local clinic 10 min away from Happo One, as taxis were all fully booked when we tried calling ourselves, Diago actually told my injured friend to “take a bus and walk” to the clinic. absolutely appalled with this kind of reception. thankfully our interaction with Diago was kept to a minimum and we much rather speaking to Anna.
Anna was exceptional in her hospitality and accomodating to our requests. As my friend tore her ACL on the first day of our trip, Anna helped in taxi bookings and was very efficient. One of the nights we had dinner booked and was unable to get a taxi, Anna drove us over without hesitation. Location was near Rhythm, near the shuttle bus pickup and drop off point as well

SingaporeBed wasn't the most comfortable and no blinds to block out the sun in the bedroom (means we were all up with the sunrise).
Our 2nd time here with a family of 4 (2 toddlers). Large rooms and living room with alot of space for kids to wander. Kitchen was also very useful esp since there's not much lunch options around the area. Our kids loved playing in the soft snow just outside the building. Relatively near to beginner slopes and shuttle bus pick up points.

New ZealandInterior is a little dated and not very well maintained (mould on windows, door lock was wonky, dust).
Handy location to the ski fields especially Happo One. Chalet was well equipped- kitchen, washer, drying room. Has everything that we need for a long ski holiday.

AustraliaThe only thing letting this property down was the lack of comfortable seating. There were 4 kitchen stools and these were not terribly comfortable to sit in for any period of time.
The cabin was cozy and gave the feeling of a Swiss cabin.

New ZealandReception wasn’t always manned which meant needing to use the services of the nearby Tokyu Hotel when reserving a cab outside the hours it was manned. Staff also didn’t have the same knowledge so we had to wait for some of them to come on shift to give us a hand. Daughter also found her bed dipping in the middle.
It was conveniently located to Tokyu Hotel where we caught all our shuttles to the ski resorts, and also only a few minutes walk to F&B and gear rentals. The space we had was also great for our family of 4, allowing us to dine around a table and play games each night. Having a washing machine, cooking facilities and a strong heater was super handy.

IndonesiaA bit musty. The inside of the cupboards need more cleaning and the fan had a lot of dust on top. Kitchen utensils such as pots and pans could use an update. Bathroom rather old. No heater in bedroom but ac type heater. There are no convenience stores nearby. But the hotel can get a van to send you and pick you up most of the time.
Cozy lodge with snow at doorstep. The hotel concierge can arrange for drop off or pick up around the area as stores are 15 minutes away. Good 2 door entrance system meant keeping the cold air and wet gear away from the inside of the lodge. Easy for cars to drop us right infront of our door. It was easy for Rhthym rental to collect our gear afterwards. All we had to do was put it on the large door step. The rental shop is only a 3 minute walk away and they can send you to the ski resort for free too. Heating was great for early december weather, especially in the kitchen the heater is really strong. The bedroom has ac for heaters which is ok in early december, not sure if it gets colder. The rental shop is only a 3 minute walk away and they can send you to the ski resort for free too.

AustraliaWe booked 4 beds and one of these was an uncomfortable fold-out sofa. However the staff were very prompt in resolving this and ensuring we were comfortable . Another small thing is that there were only plastic plates and bowls available
The staff were very helpful - they took us to get groceries when we arrived after a long days travel and assisted us to book our bus travel back to Nagano. Shout out to Anna who is very knowledgeable and could answer all our questions. The room was cosy and warm and clean. We were able to cook breakfast and dinner easily. It was very close to an Onsen, bar and ski rental . Shuttles to snow fields were very close and we were dropped off to our transport after check out. Overall this is a good value budget friendly option .
