Main lobby could use updating. The furniture has seen bettter days. Maybe more local food, purchased farmers. I know the rice was local and was just fabulous.

Breakfast was great! I preferred the Japanese bfast.

Very helpful staff, Bobo stands out with her hospitality. Near Evergreen ski school and ski resorts for beginners. Hotel hourly shuttle service makes it easy to go Hakuba town and back free. Onsen is nice..just a little small...

This resort hotel is one of the best I have ever stayed at. The staff are very helpful and friendly. All of them can speak fluent English. They are also very flexible in helping me to arrange transport and travel plan. They have shuttle bus to JR station and bus station every hour, very convenient to visit shops and restaurants. Happo Gondola Station is within walking distance. Besides, there is a shuttle bus to Hakuba Iwatake Mountain Resort and Tsugaike outside the hotel. You can also get discount gondola ticket there. Hotel decor is forest wooden lodge. Lobby is spacious. This hotel also provide glamping facilities in the Forest. There is a tree house, foot onsen, campfire and a few tents for hotel guests to use. I am impressed by the marshmallow for guests to use in campfire. Next time I will try glamping. The buffet breakfast and dinner are not the "best best", but are plenty with good quality. They have roast beef! They have a big dinning area both indoor and outdoor. You can enjoy breakfast with bird singing. The room is big and beds are very comfortable. Onsen is clean and spacious.

I chose the double queen bed but was offered two single beds, my girl friend did not want to ask the receptionist to arrange the queen bed so I did not do so.

The location is good, spring bath is good, buffet is good.

Even though I like the place, I think there are several things that need to improve: 1. WIFI is not very good, basically, the signal is very weak and unstable, if you wanna watch Netflix, it can be a challenge. the main reason I give the hotel an 8, otherwise it will be a 9 for me. 2. The toilet in the room is a bit too small if you are a big guy, that can be uncomfortable. 3. It is a central air condition system, I think it makes sense during the winter, but it could be hot during summer and you can not change the temperature. especially this year is particularly hot.

overall I think it is a great summer experience in the woods! it is very close to the gondola lift going up to Happon Pond. it is basically a walkable distance during the summer. and I believe it is going to be confident for skiing during the winter. This place has a style that makes you feel European, the main building looks like a villa from central Europe, and the interior has a classic Western deco with some Japanese elements, especially the memory of the 1998 Olympics. the lounge has 2 lovely fireplaces, even though this is summer, I could imagine how this will light the joy in your heart during the winter. I think this is the only resort you can find in the area. the hotel has several sectors and even has a camp area called "the forest" next to it. you can order drinks in the pub and sit next to the fireplace, that is so much fun during the summer. The dinner buffet is absolutely amazing, you must book it! every dish is freshly made with the best flavor you can ever taste, it is very impressive and definitely a great treat after a long hike during the day. and the staffs are very nice and helpful. had an interesting conversation with the driver who picked us up from the station, the front also gives us very clear instructions on the timetable of the bus and all tourist information. special thanks to Miss Chen and the South Asian waiter(forgive me I didn't catch his name) in the diner. overall I think it is totally worth the price and may be one of the best places for a family trip in the area regardless of the seasons. this is the place you should stay in Hakuba.

The buffet doesn’t have too many varieties and became a bit boring after 1 day Also the place is a bit aged but still very clean

The service is excellent, staffs are so helpful and friendly, special thanks to Yuki, Bobo and Sato, they are so welcoming and helpful, which made our stay really great. Onsen is great and not too many people. Sometimes we were the only guests like our private onsen.

Room was comfortable and decent size but a bit strange in some ways for a ski hotel (eg. nowhere to hang jackets etc to dry other than in the closet). Bathroom very small, and tub/shower very difficult to get in and out of. Breakfast was good but same every day, a bit of variety would have been nice.

Good location but not quite as close to the slopes as I had imagined, needs a good 10 min walk to closest lift on the main road (or wait for the shuttle bus). Being able to buy discounted ski pass from the hotel each day was excellent. The evening shuttle service was exceptional, super fast friendly and smooth, both to go out and come back after dinner.

Fantastic place to stay if you are skiing in Hakuba. We had a room with the biggest bed we have ever slept in. Breakfast included each day which was very convenient. Ski gear hire across the car park. Two restaurants on site. Private and public onsen. The staff were SO helpful and went out of their way to assist.

larger bathrooms would be a plus but quite impossible to realize

Mominoki is a classic. I have being there already three times. It is a comfortable mountain hotel with old charme . Lots of wood around, old furniture, old rugs, good breakfast, good dinner, small but nice onsen. Rooms are large and comfortable enough, the only minus is the size of the bathrooms, which are really small. Staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a very well provided sport boutique next door where we can find everything we need for skiing or snowboarding. The distance to the ski field could be annoying ( some 300 /400 meters) but acceptable. The shuttle buses stop just on the doorstep
