Loved our stay here. Beautiful historic building, great facilities and friendly staff. We chose to stay in Ito (rather than Hakone) because of this accommodation and were so pleased we did. Access to Hakone was super easy. Fabulous onsen (private and shared). Exceptional value for money.

You can’t get a cheap shared hostel like this anywhere else in Japan. Located in a rejuvenated Ryokan built a hundred years ago, you’ll get to enjoy the old good Japanese style accommodation soaked in the beautiful wood scent with the minimum cost. Plus there is personal furo that you can use for free, if you don’t like the Japanese shared bath.

We had a great time at K's house and enjoyed the nice onsen. We had a large room for 3 of us, Ryokan style with the nice view on the river. The staff was nice and friendly and provided useful info.

We loved the onsen and the kitchen facilities were excellent for cooking. We had toast and jam abd fried eggs for breakfast. The staff are friendly and kind. We visited Izu and rnjoyed the coastal walk and Teddy Bear museum.

Found bending a bit hard but expected for hostel

Closeness to outdoor onsen (12 minute walk), so many amazing areas within the facility. Friendly staff. Many restaurants close by. Beach close by.

The details are beautiful, the overall experience was amazing. Our first night was quite windy out and the windows shook and made quite a racket, but they provide ear plugs and that did the trick!

The fridge in my room didn’t work which wasn’t a problem as they have a shared and well equipped kitchen. Some of the lights didn’t work which was a bigger problem as you are on show like in a fishbowl from people strolling across the riverside. The facecloth and yukata is only available for rental which is unusual for a Ryokan.

Amazing historic property with windows overlooking the river, this comes with some noise especially from westerners not used to be quiet. The onsen is a really good one with natural spring. Common areas are pretty, spacious and welcoming. The staff was very pleasant and helpful.

The place was great, even better than expected. We had a room with a nice view of the river, and easy access to both private and shared onsen. The house is quite big, includes also a pretty nice lounge area, where you can relax and enjoy the traditional vibe of the house. Quiet, well located, easily accessible, with friendly and helpful staff.

I think the onsen area could be improved.

The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The historical building and the interior with all of the sitting spots was well done. The kitchen facilities were clean and well stocked and the AM coffee was very much appreciated.

Very nice hostel, much more comfortable then I expected, had heaters to keep the rooms warm, and the two private onsens never had a line while I was there.

Loved our stays at K's House this was our second time we have stayed here and it did not disappoint. Only stayed one night as we were heading home the next day. Loved the Onsen, loved the pillows (they were actually soft) loved everthing hope to return again oneday.

We found the sleeping mats a bit thin for us, as we aren’t used to them. This was the only dislike.

There is a feeling of being at home and welcome by the staff. The communal living areas and Onsen are also very nice, the room we had was private and spacious with a sink and separate bathroom. We showered with provided body soap, there was also shampoo and conditioner, in the onsen experience. There is a pretty view.

Everything was perfect!

THE MOST MEMORABLE STAY IN JAPAN! I've changed 3 hostels, 2 ryokans, and this is definitely the best one!!! IT'S A HIDDEN GEM. AND I honestly hope it stays that way so I can book it on my next trip to Japan and stay here longer. YOU get access to two private onsens, one on each floor, and one public onsen on the ground floor, that I honestly even loved more than the private ones. Everything is super clean, taken care of with love and the staff is super nice, and they speak English in case you don't speak Japanese! The rooms are incredible, I loved sleeping on the futon, there was enough space in rooms for everybody to leave their luggage, and in the kitchen you could help yourself to free tea, coffee, jams, bread etc. The kitchen has everything you need, and you can even do laundry. Everything you need is there. The views from the room, and especially from the common room are incredible! They have a kotatsu, and books you can read. There's at least 5 sections in the common area in case you want privacy. Honestly the best ryokan ever. And it's affordable!!!

Tastefully decorated, clean and peaceful. Rooms are big. There are 3 big common rooms for in-house guests to take meals, and chat. Only the onsen was too small and indoor, we did not use but rather went to another private bath within 15 mins walking distance, recommended by a he hotel. With hotel voucher, guest can get a slight discount.
