Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeLiked that it was a short walk to hakata station. 24hr supermarket nearby. Shared facilities were maintained well and clean. Counter staff was very helpful. Offered me an umbrella on my check out date because it was pouring so heavily.

United StatesThe bathroom space is a bit cramped and small, but I didn't have too many issues with it. The showers themselves are great and have plenty of space to place your clothes and stuff.
The staff were fantastic, very helpful and always accommodating. They were great to chat with about local shops and food. The facilities were clean and comfortable. Location is easy to get to a main street or the station, but the neighborhood itself is pretty quiet.

BelgiumNoise travels easily + people change quite often and these beds are being 'cleaned' starting at 10 am, sometimes earlier. Which can be a bit annoying.
Very small and comfortable hostel, not too many people and easy to meet others. I thought the beds to be comfortable.

United KingdomThere is no kitchen, just a kettle and microwave in the common area, then the form had a small fridge for snacks. But then it is a very small space.
Staff were all very nice and friendly. It’s a great little place - very compact, even for Japan so be prepared for that. The common area fits only a few people and sinks are in the hallway. But it was clean and offered free tea and coffee which was nice.

JapanThe mixed dorm was a bit overly warm/stuffy. AC is installed in the room but was switched off, but probably just because we’re in the time of year when weather varies hugely.
Very friendly and helpful host. Beautifully clean wash areas. Nice cosy common area at the front to relax. Excellent value for money, as long as you’re prepared to walk a bit (15min to Hakata, or 20min to Nishitetsu-Hirao to go to Dazaifu).

United StatesThe sleeping area with all the bunk beds is not very big, and it feels a little dangerous (at least for me because I'm clumsy) to go up and down the ladder of the top bunk, but the actual bed space is fine and there is a curtain for some privacy.
I've stayed here before and I must reiterate that I very much appreciate how clean it is. (Japan has some of the cleanest hostels I've every stayed at!) You can walk to the hostel from Hakata Station, but it's a little far (like 20 minutes). However, it's very close to a convenient bus stop with frequent buses to and from Hakata Station.

PhilippinesNothing really. The place might be small and there is only one shower room but you get the price that you pay for so don’t expect any lavish amenities. It is just cozy for a one night stay.
The receptionists were so kind and helpful. They have everything you need in an affordable price

AustraliaThe hostel itself was only 1 floor and felt crammed. 20-minute walk to the nearest public transport available (Hakata Station). The location was near Hakata Station albeit, away from the trendy areas
The location was near Hakata Station which is always nice. The staff were super friendly and always happy to lend a hand and socialise. The bed was amazing and there was a safe and ample space for large luggage. It's next to a couple of supermarkets and a double-storey FamilyMart (convenience store) which was a pleasant surprise. They also offered a bike rental service for only 500 yen which is a bargain

Hong KongSound proofing is not the best, but most of the guests are considerate. So, it is not bothering.
The place is literally almost spotless. Even the shelf on the wall and the corner of the bed are wiped thoroughly. I have seen the staff cleaning not just the bed sheets, but also beating the futon and the beddings after the guests had checked out the other morning. This is honestly the cleanest and tidiest stay I have ever had. I slept so well at night because of the tiny trace of laundry scent coming from the beddings. It smelt like it has been kissed by the sun. The hostel is also very homey and cosy. They are playing soft and relaxing jazz by the common area. It is well decorated with some dried plants. It just looks relaxing. 因為床很乾淨和被子散發着淡淡的洗滌劑味道,所以很安心,睡得很好。

GermanyThere was a little dust at the edge of the my bed, nothing serious.
The entry area with the living area is quite well sound isolated of the sleeping rooms. Didn't expect that in Japan for this price. Also the doors were modified in order to close silent. Everything was clean and the personal extremely helpful and nice.
