The breakfast was pretty good. It had a lot of vegetables and I like it. The location of the hotel is fantastic. We can go anywhere with easy access to subway, train and bus. There are a lot of places to eat and shop too.

The rooms are very small. You won't be able to take six steps in the room but as I said proximity to the Kyoto station beats all.

We have been to many 4 star hotels like Hotel Keihan Kyoto Ekiminami and it was our worst experience. The price we paid was the same as other 4 star hotels inclusive breakfast and eco room cleaning meaning minimal cleaning and replacement of towels and changing of bed sheets. Disappointedly this hotel did not provide a single bottle of drink water like other 4 star hotels, no shower cap and cleaning of room was inconsistent. The worst we experienced was their breakfast which we have paid for in the room charge and it was poor selection of food choice, lack of variety, no fresh fruits. We contacted the staff and their reply was more disappointing. Politely the staff acknowledged the feedback but they did not extend their Japanese hostility to do something for us like get the chef make us a plate of decent breakfast food with proper scramble egg, sausages or ham with toast and salad but the staff apologized for they cannot do anything for us to fulfill our feedback as we have to go through the bad breakfast experience for 5 to 6 days. Please do not be attracted and convinced by their breakfast photos on a few websites. The cutleries and plates were cheap and felt like for a prisoner use. Some of the food were overcooked The staff also told us they will charge separately for breakfast as from 1 July 2024. So I assume it will be more costly. I would not recommend for this hotel for the exception of the location and putting with the poor quality of breakfast food and other budgeted items that they don’t provide like other 4 star hotels.

I booked this hotel as it was nearer to the station than the Keihan Grand and It was directly in front of it! Loved everything about this hotel - more western than other hotels with the toilet and the bath in the same area - we booked a triple room, the beds were comfortable. The room itself was small but comfortable. Ours looked out to the station so it was a beautiful sight to see in the evening and just after sunrise. The staff were so accommodating. Check in was smooth and amenities and a vending machine for drinks were available in front of the elevators. The bath area is clean and the tub was bigger than most. While there is a desk, they provided trays so you can eat on the bed. The laundry area is on the 2nd floor. This might be the only con as there are only three machines for the whole hotel. It’s a coin laundry so need to get your coins ready (which we didn’t). It’s about 600 yen for a full load to wash and dry. The clothes come out a bit damp but you can hang it in your room and should dry overnight. All rooms apparently came with breakfast. Breakfast is served from 7am to 10am.

The space was very tight for three adults and three beds. We were constantly running into each other. The bathroom was especially tiny with a small sink and limited counter space. The small footprint really forced you to figure out how to use the space efficiently. The service also wasn’t as warm as other hotels we’ve stayed at but that seems to be a general Kyoto thing.

The location was great, literally across the street from Kyoto Station (although sometimes finding the right exit from the station was challenging). The breakfast also offered plenty of selection, veggies especially though did sometimes get crowded. The free beverage service at night was also refreshing after a day of touring around Kyoto.

The airconditioning was hard to set correctly and it was not possible to open the window. The airconditioning got either to cold or to hot.

Clean room, location was next to Kyoto station which was amazing! Area felt safe and staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms had pyjama’s which came in handy
