We liked everything!

Cannot recommend this hotel more! We loved everything here; the staff was super lovely and helpful, the room was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The pyjamas were a nice touch and really comfortable. The location is great. Not far from a metro station and about 10-15 minutes walk from the Nishiki market.

The pictures of the room we booked were deceptive. As the one we had was very small, with a view on a wall. It was fine for a day or two, knowing that when you travel, you don't stay in your room that much. An expensive hotel, due to maily its location and the chain it belonged to. The staff at the reception was professional. However, as I used the company to transfer my luggage to Tokyo, one of their staff, who was in charge of the paperwork, made a mistake with my identity. It took her a very long time to fill up the form. Thankfully, I managed to receive my luggage regardless of the mistake.

Lovely hotel, offering a good location. Beautiful room, very comfortable beds. There is a matcha set, which is amazing if, like me, you love tea. A bag of amenities was offered, nicely presented.

Fine location with a metro station nearby, also plenty of nice restaurants in the neighborhood. Friendly staff, they speak English very well. It is a very nice room, classic Japanese style, and very clean.

My only issue with this hotel is that they claim to be environmentally friendly, yet everyday give you 2 new packets of toiletries which is totally not necessary! I hope these get reused if unused or given to charities.

Beautiful room with traditional Japanese elements, tatami floor, paper window covers and matcha making bits in your room. The staff are really friendly and kind, this is the only hotel we stayed in during our 3 week holiday that acknowledged that we were on our honeymoon and gave us a lovely gift of chopsticks!

Room was a little small for myself and my son and I tried to upgrade, but the bigger room wasn't available. I should have looked more closely at the size of the room on booking and booked the bigger room to start with. The cost differential wasn't that big a deal.

Beautiful hotel in great location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Amenities were very nice and close to restaurants, shopping and metro.

This is a great hotel in a great neighbourhood. All around the hotel are restaurants, cafes, bars, etc that local Kyoto residents go to. The hotel is small and the rooms are small as well. But well designed and appointed. Staff were incredibly nice and helpful. The hotel is a close walk to nishiki market and gion but you don't feel like you are in the middle of the tourist zone. Check out the area behind the hotel. There is are great restaurants all around.

Housekeeping service during daytime could be a little noisy - might be disruptive for late sleeper. Only 2 washers and 2 dryers - my friend had to wait for 45minutes for a dryer to become available because some guest decided to just leave it there after it dried.

Warm and welcoming receptionist, professional and efficient check-in process. Guide us through the facilities in the hotel. The room is really cute, japanese style but with western bed. Bath tub is large enough for a good bath (unlike other hotels I've stayed in Japan). Good location, about 20minutes walk away from main shopping area. Plenty of restaurants and izakaya nearby. About 6-10 minutes walk to subway stations.

Nothing, everything was perfect and exceeded our expectations

The hotel was very conveniently located to the Karasuma subway and Hankyu line, with many destinations (Gion, Kyoto tower, Kyoto station) located within a short walk (around 30 minutes) or short subway journey. The room was stunning with tatami flooring and very comfortable! Bed was very large and also very comfortable. Wish we could have stayed longer.

I stayed in Kyoto for 4 days and wanted to make some day trips to Nara and Osaka, so I was looking for a hotel with convenient location. This spot was a short walk to the Shijo station which was exactly what I was looking for. The area to the northeast of the hotel has a lot of great shopping and dining, which was a nice surprise for me as well, so I loved the location. The hotel itself was great value in my opinion, the accommodations were all nice. I'm working on my Japanese so I mainly tried to converse in that, but English speaking would have been totally fine based on the other guests I heard checking in.

They provided the bathroom necessities. But I didn’t like the idea of putting up front Covid reason for not cleaning the room daily. Instead they do clean your room if you are staying longer than 2 days.

It’s good for short stay, closer to the station. Very convenient.

When we opened our room windows we could smell cigarette smoke as I believe bellow they had an area where you could do that.
