Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomAccess down a side street was a little off-putting at first but in a high density built up area it is probably to be expected. Our room was quite compact although was adequate for a short stay.
The location was excellent, being close to the Tokyo JR railway station, although it was a little hard to locate on arrival. There were plenty of convenience shops and restaurants nearby. It was quiet on an evening. We were a little concerned on arrival as there was a huge building site nearby but it was not a problem.

Location is great, 5 minutes walking to Tokyo Station. Rooms are new and clean. Breakfast is quite okay, with some options to choose from.

AustriaHotel was located just a few minutes walk from Tokyo Station's Yaesu exit. Exactly what we needed after getting in straight from the airport. Room was small, but that is standard and expected for hotels in Tokyo. The staff were great, starting from check-in, all the way to helping us with filling in the forms to send our bag via courier.

United StatesI have three booking for this hotel for this trip via booking.com. The price I was told to pay when I checked in were different and higher of course from the price I booked showed in booking.com app. The staff just can't help me and told me to call booking.com. Imagine who will have the time to deal with this type of issue when you have friends and family waiting to carry on the itinerary . I don't know whose issue is this, hotel or booking.com. The booking all have the same problem. Other hotel I booked via booking.com didn't have this problem.

United StatesWe did not pay for breakfast ( ate at train station). No coffee from lobby until after 11:00am! Ofcourse room has instant coffee ( no thanks). Some reason the toilet smells after flushing ( smells like instant ramen!) Room 806. Smells everytime even after selecting big flush.
Location, only 5 min walk from Tokyo station. Exit 21 or 22 ( take steps on left) from ground floor gallery. Love the facial masks, shea butter.for ladies at reception counter. Free coffee/ water/ apple juice from 11:00am-10:00 pm. Thank you for the very Quiet room on 8th floor w some view. Comfy bedding n beds. Thank you for the welcome cold beer! Staff is very nice.
