Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeNot really for the price I paid. Only personal preference is the pillow was too soft to me
Booked a single room with double for one night. Room was tatami design, compact but has everything I need. Surprised to have my own bathroom too as I thought it has to be shared toilet. Hotel also provided sauna bathroom at level 1, great to relax after whole day walking in Nikko. Family mart is just opposite to the hotel, easy to grab snacks, dinner at night.

PolandSmall room, but unfortunately it's quite frequent in Japan. But the real problem was no hot water till the evening - on purpose (!). After getting soaked on the trip to Mt Hangetsu, the only thing I was dreaming of was a warm shower. But faced cold water instead. Thankfully my brother was in the room, so went down to the reception to complaint, with me waiting naked in the bath, dang... They turned sth on and 5 minutes later the hot water was available. I have never faced such terrible practice before.
Great location - just opposite to 24/7 Family Mart, and close to JR station and bus station. Toshogu can be reached on foot too. A good number of lockers - you need to insert a coin, that you take back when picking up the baggage. We saw a note about breakfast option, that looked nice and not expensive - but we didn't try it out, so can't say more. And nice amenities, like kettle or fridge. Finally - a surprise was waiting for us: according to the reservation, we were supposed to use shared bathroom, but in the end we got a room with a private one.

Czech RepublicAlthough you have your own room there is almost no isolation so you can hear your neighbours but it is quite usual in hostels and capsule hotels so nothing earplugs would not solve:)
Very close to the station. Very nice and clean, nice staff.

Located very near to the train station and on the main road. Even though it is a capsule hotel, there is an individual room which can be locked and a secure locker is also available.

BelgiumVery conveniently located within a few minutes walk from the station. There are lockers to store bags (etc.) if you arrive before 15h. Clean and comfortable with a nice breakfast. Separate toilet and washing facilities (as indicated in the description) that are nice and clean. Reasonably priced also.

Very central and easy to reach from the station. The included bath is very nice after daylong walking through all the shrines or hiking the mountains of nikko.

United KingdomThe rooms aren't very large, so this might be a problem if you have a lot of luggage. We were staying overnight from Tokyo, so we had left our large suitcases in Tokyo in storage and just had backpacks.
This small hotel is located very conveniently close to both JR Nikko and Tobu-Nikko train stations, so it was easy to walk to. We had booked the tatami style rooms and each was large enough for two people. Each room also had its own toilet. The showers were in a couple of private rooms down the hall. The hotel has a hot bath for guests to use on the ground floor so you can borrow yukata. We didn't use the hot baths which are shared, but having a yukata was useful for when I took a shower. The shower was very nice, lots of hot water and good water pressure. While we were in Nikko, it rained quite a bit, so it was incredibly useful for the hotel to have its own washing machines and dryer section on the same floor we were staying on. I managed to get all of our clothes plus our shoes dry for a few hundred yen, which was so convenient. Lastly, this hotel was amazing value for money.

United StatesThere wasn’t a female restroom on my floor so it was a little annoying going to another to use the restroom.
I only stayed for one night but slept like a log. I’m not sure why people in other reviews are complaining about room size when they are booking at a CAPSULE hotel. I enjoyed my little bit of space for a great value. The location is near the train station and across from one of the only convenience stores in town.

United KingdomWhilst I didn’t physically check, the paperwork in the room explains that the showers are only available to use in limited hours of the morning & evening. Which was a bit of an inconvenience for someone who likes a lie in. Mattress and pillow are very thin.
Staying in the dormitory it’s nice to have the extra bit of space next to the bed for privacy. Good water pressure in the showers, man at the check-in desk was friendly. All areas I used were clean.

TaiwanBreakfast will take out the food that was not taken out the day before and continue to display it. It is recommended that if there are not many people eating, the dishes can be packed into small portions. The table for breakfast is not very clean.
The location is close to the station, across the street from the family mart, and there is a public hot spring pool on the ground floor.

CanadaI could be wrong, but if you have tattoos you won't be able to use the onsen or book it to use privately.
Hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating. Hotel is very close to the train station, making it a very convient location. They offer free coffee, tea and juice in the morning. Small comfortable rooms with your own personal toilet. Has a convenience store right infront of the hotel and ramen shop right next door. Onsen on first floor. The room also had a clothes line incase you do laundry in the hotel, which is convient.
