Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Initially, this hotel seemed a little remote but we came to appreciate being away from the crowded Kawaguchiko. The view of Fuji from the room was a real bonus. Staff were very helpful; breakfast very good. Very grateful to the hotel for minding our luggage on the day of departure.

PolandNothing to complain about.
The best part about this hotel was the onsen. The room was clean even though you could tell it was a bit dated. The restaurant downstairs serves very good yakiniku. View of Mount Fuji from the room was a nice added bonus. Parking at the back of the hotel is available free of charge. There is a large supermarket nearby and a pharmacy.

EgyptThe one thing that I would have hoped didn’t happen was that I paid for a Fuji view room yet when I arrived I was given a normal room. Kanagawa san tried to correct the mistake by giving me a a Fuji view room for one night as they were fully booked the night after so just changing the rooms and all was a hassle. I also believe its slightly pricy for the room size.
Really nice hotel, I believe its a hidden gym. Great location, friendly staff as well as very comfy, had the onsen all to myself for 2 nights in a row as well as the massage chair.

Australiawith the exception of the hot spring, the facilities were a bit dated, but frankly not too out of line from the price. While it's partially my fault for not pre-booking dinner, when I decided to get dinner at the attached restaurant on the evening of my stay, I went to the restaurant 45 minutes before what I was told was last order, and I was told the restaurant was closing earlier than the usual opening hours. This meant I had to walk out to other restaurants in 0 Celsius weather. If I had known the last order time was an hour earlier than I was told that night I would've gone down earlier.
The Japanese-style breakfast was great for a quick and efficient meal before heading out for the day. The location was easy to access from Fuji-Q drop off and the local streets were nice to walk around. Excellent view from the room in the morning even with classic Fuji cloudy weather. The hot spring was lovely, very nice in the winter weather and the room was a generous size compared to other accommodation for the price.

United StatesShort walking distance from the Fujikyu-Highland train station but it was along a busy road. When we arrived, it was snowing and so the roads were icy. I would not recommend walking if it is snowy/icy or it's dark outside. Thankfully, the front desk was happy to call us a taxi so we ended up taking more taxis than planned.
Our twin room had all the amenities you would need for a short stay: mini-fridge, Nespresso machine, and bathrobes. We stayed as a family of 3 and found it plenty spacious. We especially enjoyed the rotenburo onsen during the snow fall – thankfully, when we were there, it was empty so we were able to enjoy it in private. The massage chair (free of charge) is also an amazing plus after a soak in the onsen. The breakfast was hearty – and you can choose between Japanese or Western-style. The Korean BBQ restaurant in-house and the bakery nearby were also delicious!

CanadaI love having the onsen! I went at 9pm and had the place all to myself. There is also a massage chair in the lounge for after a soak. The staff are so friendly. They were very helpful when I needed to send my luggage to the next hotel. They also found my battery pack that was left beuind and sent that with my luggage! Really appreciate the staff. The Yakiniku restaurant attached is also very delicious! And as a guest, you get 10%off.
