If I have to be picky, a better option of tea and coffee at breakfast but for the price I thought it was a great value overall

A nice hotel in a great location. Staff was nice and friendly. The amenities bar was full with everything you need and even though you were off of one of the main shopping streets it was still nice and quiet in the hotel. Perfect location to walking into Gion too!

Breakfast room (which wasn’t even included in our rate) wasn’t attractive at all and also not consistent with the rest of the hotel. We are Italian and we didn’t appreciate the choice of a “sort of Italian restaurant” in that Japanese environment which was really beautiful. After checking in we found the bathroom bin still full from previous guests and the smell coming from the toilet/sink was really bad. WiFi in our room wasn’t working either. On our check out date we asked the girls at the reception to kindly book a taxi for us (we were travelling with a baby and therefore we needed a large car for the pram to get to the station) but they were very dismissive and told us that taxis were not available - they didn’t even spoke with them on the phone. No assistance or problem solving at all. Also none of them spoke English, which is not ideal for a customer facing job.

Nothing all good.

The location was great with bus stops just outside the hotel which get you to all the main tourist areas. Plenty of places to eat out within a five minute walk as the hotel is located in a busy shopping area. Good selection for vegetarians for breakfast including salad, egg, fruit salad yogurt and rice. Room size good. Coffee machine on ground floor.

The location was super! The room and the lobby looked really well. Everything was clean and seemed brand new. I even had a matcha set in my room. Good breakfast too. Can’t recommend it enough!

Breakfast is very average, would not buy it again. Some loud noises in the mornings and evenings on certain days (bars nearby).

Only 2 washing machines and only 2 dryers. The dryers took very long so there was a queue.

Absolutely fantastic. Location is perfect, you are close to everything. The hotel itself is very beautiful and got a great atmosphere. Very relaxing. The staff was great, super helpful and they forwarded our luggage. 2 bottles of free water everyday. No complaints, loved it!

Excellent location for a 24 hour visit to Kyoto. Felt very safe for a female solo traveler. The room had everything necessary in it and was very clean. Good value for money.

The room was perfectly cleaned and spacious. I liked the Japanese style of the hotel and the rooms. The location was perfect next to many restaurants bars and sights.

The bed is small. The room is also small but that's Japan. The breakfast is not the greatest, but maybe it's because I personally don't wanna eat miso soup that early in the morning.

The hotel looks very nice. There is a laundry coin service available that was very handy - laundry detergent included for 300 yen. They also offer a service where they ship your luggage to your next destination - I haven't used it because I thought saving 20 euros was worth it but then I ended up spending all 20 euros on the claw machines and had to carry my own luggage.

Breakfast does not make the money, the menu is continental and very limited in choice. Many things we had on offer in other hotels here were completely missing.

The hotel is very good, elegant, well located, the staff is very professional and friendly. The room was spacious and well equipped.

Fantastic location to great shopping, buses and train stations close by and many food choices. Delicious French bakery around the corner if you do not go for the breakfast included option. Lovely hotel, the smell is amazing the moment you step into hotel entrance. Coffee machine in Japanese style reading and sitting area. Great value for such a stylish hotel.

It is really minor things: - toilet paper is very thin (one layer), I had better ones in public toilets.. - the rooms are not cleaned everyday which is totally fine but we still receive new towels everyday. Maybe it will be better to only change the ones that are given back.

The location was amazing, close to Gion (10-15 min by foot) and great places to eat (Pantocho and Nishiki market). There is also a metro station close-by. It was also clean, a comfy bed and we receive 2 water bottles everyday. I would recommend it 100% and would come back for sure!

The rooms are really very small (even for Japanese standards!) and ours didn’t have a proper window either so I’d suggest upgrading to a bigger one if there for more than one night - we stayed for 4 and it was wearing me down eventually! Also, I think they really could improve the breakfast offering.

Good location for exploring Kyoto, friendly staff, good selection of toiletries and amenities to take to the room and a nice touch to have a free coffee machine in the lounge.

Beautiful well maintained hotel very centralized in Kyoto. Location is a 10/10. Rooms are perfect for what you need if you’re planning on getting out and see Kyoto all day.
