Convenient accomodation for visiting Kyoto and the region, spacious for japanese standards.

There is nothing to reproach, really. If I really have to find a point that could be improved, the communal spaces are quite limited: there are a few seats in the lobby at the ground floor, but little else. The microwave oven is also located at the ground level, so if you decide to dine in your room, you have to walk around the lobby with your food. Still, these are small details, I would not count them as problems.

I spent there 7 nights. The hotel location is very convenient, a short walk from Karasuma Oike metro station, which gives access to both metro lines. Close to various kombini, it has an in-house Matsuya outlet, in case you want to eat something. Service is very friendly, and I could communicate effectively even with my limited Japanese. The room was immaculate, and correctly sized -- this is Japan, after all, and rooms are small in general; that being said, this one was very reasonable and quite comfortable. I enjoyed every day of my stay. Personally, I think it is very good value for money.

I didn’t check the window? When I went in it was already so dark. I forgot to set an alarm, so I overslept( 1000%my fault). I didn’t complain at all.

Their room size is roughly as small as other hotels, but their room is just so well-designed in a way that the space is utilized much more efficiently. The shape of the desk is unconventional so that we have more desk space. The couch even has a little table for your drinks. The bed is so comfortable that I overslept lol and missed half day of my trip lol. I love the bathroom too. Anyway, this hotel is perfect for solo travellers. The only overall downside for me is perhaps the location(8/10 still) But the closest subway station is also a major subway station, which empowers a lot more possibilities. Check out time i believe was 12 noon, which was nice.

Breakfast has 4 options, each like a menu, with a few things. And most of those things I didn't touch, so I thought it was a bit of a waste. But it was a good breakfast.

The staff was very nice and friendly. The amenities were also quite nice as is standard in Japan. The room was as they described it in the options and pictures. The hotel is located at walking distance from train and subway stations which is very handy.

Room is small (still perfect as I was only using it for sleeping!) but it was hard to open a large suitcase in the room.

Hotel was in a great location for visiting Kyoto - I was able to walk to a lot of places including Nisiki Market. Friendly staff. My luggage arrived here from Tokyo with no problems. The laundry services are good.

The room is really really small. Staff didn’t provide extra services like helping me make a reservation at restaurant.

Good location, a short walk to the subway. The bathroom is modern. Facilities are nice and clean. There’s on-site washer and dryer which worked great. Staff is friendly enough. There’s a cafeteria adjacent to the hotel which is very convenient when restaurants turned me down (table for 1 at 6pm) because I didn’t have reservation.

Breakfast wasn't that good in my opinion. I had another stay on another Hotel Unizo in a different province which had a massive buffet with a much better quality of ingredients so i had to make this comparison.

Not a bad, but faceless Japanese hotel with a bad smell

The room was a bit dusty and smelled bad. Actually the whole part of the hotel where we stayed smelled bad. The smell did not vanish during the 4 days we stayed there. It decreased a bit if the window was kept open, but the maids used to close it and at night we couldn't leave it open because the wind blew straight to our heads and mosquitoes appeared. If you choose Western style breakfast, they give you 1 enormously thick toast! It would be way better if they sliced it in 2. When they prepare your breakfast they call your number in Japanese, although you are the only one waiting for the meal. But they look at you anyway.

Spaceous bathroom, a lot of bathroom amenities, rather conveniently placed to visit Kyoto (some 450 m. from a non-JR metro station), breakfast included (Japanese option with salmon and a raw egg was really good😉). Free water in the hallway. The room is cleaned everyday (even the cups are washed!), free robes.

We know that in Japan rooms are small but it was too congested. Although I was alone, it was difficult to open a big suitcase. Compared to this, my hotel room in Tokyo had much more space. There are many things kept in the room which is not needed by every traveller. Some should be removed to make space. I couldn’t understand one thing, I had to leave the hotel at 5 am and was little worried whether I would be able to get a taxi so early in the morning or not. Despite my repeated requests, the hotel staff couldn’t book a taxi for me. Anyways, I got an Uber cab in the morning.

The property is in a quiet area and well maintained. Teramachi street which is a huge shopping area is just 7-8 minutes walking. Even Nishiki market is less than a kilometre. It’s just 300-400 metres from the subway so very convenient. Rooms have all the facilities needed for a comfortable stay. The best part, I was supposed to stay there for five nights but because of some urgency, I had to cut short the visit and I could stay only three nights. I was unable to modify the booking because I was already at the hotel reception and the cancellation time was over. The hotel staff itself modified my booking and charged me for three nights only. I am really thankful and grateful to them.

There was a person that left their laundry in the washing machine for a very long time past completion. It forced other people to wait longer than necessary. Would like a system that prevents this kind of issue.

    Smooth stay.
