Good location (few minutes walk from metro exit 1, the nearest exit with elevator access will be exit 3-2, just opposite crossing the road). Nice, clean, spacious room. Washroom with bathtub, which is larger than those usually seen in other similar hotel. With two convenient stores nearby, and a 24-hour supermarket located in the next street. Definitely will choose this hotel again next time visiting Kyoto!

Breakfast has four options, the western option has very thick toast + some jam, runny eggs + two sausages, yogurt and some salad. It became very repetitive after a few days. I would advise to buy the breakfast tickets at the front desk per day (around 800 yen or so I believe) for a longer stay, to keep your options for breakfast at a different place open.

Breakfast was nice and quickly prepared, just point at the one you want, get a number and retrieve after two minutes or so. Tea / fruit juice was available from machines at the side. For vegetarians you can ask to not include the meat in the western option.

I like how clean my room when i came in and just what I am expecting. I will definitely booking this hotel if ever I'm coming back to Kyoto. Staff are so friendly and very accommodating. I lost my breakfast stub and they provided me with one.

The location is very central to Kyoto. it is quite a very short walk from the subway which can be reached by the Kyoto station. they serve a quick breakfast, although it offers only 4 options and they also have several options for tea and coffee.

All I needed for my work trip, down to the tiniest little details. The room was very cosy, well designed, and very well-equipped. The staff was also incredibly helpful, despite my luggage having not followed me in the plane. I had to fill a form almost entirely in Japanese and the staff did not hesitate to directly fill all relevant parts and help me translate the rest. Breakfast can be included - there are 4 different options, all tasty, some are very filling. Overall great quality-price ratio.

you had to pay to use the television, maybe there was a free TV option to watch but not being able to read Japanese I couldn't figure it out on the remote control. it would have been good for background noise in a hotel room : )

Although the hotel overall has a rather luxurious feel for its category, the restaurant is more like a canteen. They have four set menus for the breakfast, which are all rather filling and always arrived warm, but I can say that I've had better hotel breakfast in my life.

I stayed at Hotel Unizo for a week and I was completely satisfied with my stay. The staff was exceptionally polite and professional, and the hotel provides a lot of amenities, both within the room and in the common areas. I was particularly impressed by the quality and equipment of the room, which far exceeded my expectations in terms of comfort and convenience. Bed, towels, bathroom products, all were nice and of high quality. No weird smells, nothing was broken or torn. The area is very quiet (a plus for me), but there's a lot of great restaurants around, and you're within walking distance from Kawaramachi, Nijo, Heian Shrine, Gion and the Imperial Gardens.

Breakfast procedure is unusual. You get one coupon per morning at check in, redeem at cafe next door. You choose from 4 set meals, from more traditional to modern Japanese style. You get a ticket with a number. Staff then call out numbers (in japanese) when ready. If you don't know Japanese numbers, they will come find you, so not a disaster, but could be improved for foreigners. If you are a picky/light eater this also leads to unnecessary food waste.

Got a great deal at 8000Y/£50 per night. Comfy bed and pillow. Seems the bathroom, if not the whole room, had just been renovated, everything in great condition (although dark wood panelling style makes it look dated). Missed having onsen, but bathroom was superb. Friendly helpful staff

A little walking to bus stops and stations for those who are not familiar with Kyoto.

Perfect room and facilities for a short stay either to work or relax. I love the common space on the lady floor! Matsuya fastfood Japanese restaurant is good for a hungry arrival. The location is great but probably good for people who know Kyoto well

not really a dislike but i wish the bathroom light is warm yellow/white instead of bright white.

nice little garden in front the restaurant in 1F (which is a chain) is quite good and affordable. when you dont know where to eat, can go there and also pick a table next to the window so you can enjoy the view of the little japanese style garden
