Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandBreakfast. There was no choice. At least thexy could offer three different types of breakfast and it could be easy and bring a lot more safisfaction.

JapanThe restaurant at the ground floor should definitely do more interesting food in the evenings - it doesn’t seem to be a priority to have a restaurant there, but they’re missing an opportunity here.
First Hotel might have that name as it’s the first hotel you see near the Modern Art Museum, and near one of the Kenrokuen garden entrances. Location is excellent, overlooking the castle wall and on street that leads to shops and restaurants (about a 10 min walk). The hotel is new and the interior design of the room was excellent. Comfy beds with good linen. Bathroom was super nice, and it feels a step above your usual business hotel as the room is a bit larger and so were the twin beds. Checking in and out was easy, but there aren’t many staffs around. I had the breakfast which I thought was delicious, but it’s a set Japanese breakfast and perhaps not for those who want toast and bacon. You can do laundry in the hotel and there are drinks dispensing machines but there’s not a convini store nearby, so get your snacks in the shopping streets up the road. The hotel is in walking distance from many attractions. If I went to Kanazawa again, this is where I would stay.

United StatesThe room was very small and the beds were extremely close together. But it was very clean, quiet and comfortable!!
I loved the breakfast!! However a traditional American breakfast eater might struggle a bit because it was authentic Japanese and not eggs, bacon, toast and jelly. I love the fact the breakfast was very different on each of the three mornings.

FranceSmall room, with too much furniture, which does not allow you to open your suitcase anywhere. The hotel restaurant open to the hall, sends all the cooking smells back into the lobby which is not very pleasant when you enter the hotel.
Hotel very well located near the tourist centers of interest. Bus stop near. Modern, clean hotel with very pleasant staff.

ThailandThe attendant who staffed the reception around 11:00 on 13 and 14 April was very rude when he found out that our party has one less person. Then he tried to insult us that we could not afford nearby parking as it was “very expensive”. The following morning, when we lost luggage tag, despite paying the ¥1000 fee, he still show his anger and repeatedly asked us to “go away”.
Overall it is a decent hotel.

Germany-hotel has some cleaning issues. I had a pretty severe allergic reaction when staying over. Most likely it was a combination of unclean AC unit (reaction would get worse when it was running) pretty big collection of dust bunnies under the bed 😬 and feather duvets (that I managed to replace the first night for a blanket ). While the feather blankets are not a big deal I think the hotel really needs to step up its standards when it comes to cleaning. Because my allergy is pretty severe when it comes to upper respiratory problems after initial duvet swapping I decided to cut my stay short instead of trying to further troubleshoot shoot the issue with the hotel. The reason for this was the language barrier and the reluctance of the staff to provide hands on help.(I was asked to remove the blankets myself and chuck them onto the corridor which I found a bit disappointing) I unfortunately can’t really recommend this hotel to anyone that has sensitivity to dust or has asthma. It’s also very clear that the hotel is understaffed which probably causes the majority of the problems with cleaning and customer service
The hotel is well located close to Kenroku Ken garden and a museum

JapanOnly trivial problems. We checked in at the reception desk and then had to check in using a machine. It was a little strange having to essentially check in twice. Bare in mind that I am a foreign resident living in Japan; I was asked for ID despite providing a Japanese address, phone number, and paying with a Japanese bank card. It's always a little frustrating being treated with suspicion even when I can provide all the same details as a Japanese national resident. The bathroom was beautiful, but the one downward light right above the mirror was not sufficient for a lady trying to get ready. Thankfully, the room's large windows and table placed in front of the window allowed for perfect natural lighting to apply makeup and style hair.
Upon arrival, the staff were quick to greet us. The lobby area was very welcoming with lots of seats. The twin room was above average sized. The bathroom was also very spacious. Everything is modern, sleek, and clean. The hotel and location were quiet, and our sleep wasn't disturbed at night or early morning by outside noise or other guests. The Japanese breakfast was a wonderful experience with lots of different foods to try, and it was beautifully presented.

Australiadisappointed in size of rooms. we had 3 rooms and they were all the same despite 2 being ‘superior’. we ended up upgrading to an executive room to get a room where one person didn’t have to sleep against the wall. also, we understood from booking.com that it had a restaurant-it doesn’t. staff told us it served only breakfast but we found out (next morning) that you also needed a reservation! staff also told us there was nowhere to eat nearby which is not true. there are lots of excellent affordable options.
