Not much for me to ask to improve. The only thing I could think of is to have a shelf or more hooks in the shower room for toiletries and clothing bags to hang.

The shared spaces were well-kept and had signs asking other guests to respect the rules so there was never a question about what rules we should be following.

Futons were really thin... not very comfortable. Walls are very thin and you can hear everything from the walk way, bathroom, other rooms... so when you come back late in the night it's a bit complicated not to wake up everyone. You can not open the room's window to ventilate. Once we came back in the room and the smell from other guests was really bad. Washing machine is outside

There is no lift which is a hassle of you got heavy bags however the staff are always ready to assist

The water from the 2nd floor tap tasted a bit odd. WiFi was unreliable at times.

Super friendly staff. Lovely maps and great recommendations for tourist attractions and sites. Comfortable shared areas and good fridge access. Lots of showers and toilets. Really good location too!

Staff is friendly and amazing! I've got a feeling like I got back home. I have stayed in 3 hostels around the Japan and this one pleasantly surprised me even though this place is not brand new. The room was only for 4 persons, so it is nice and cozy!

It was near the Kyoto station and easy to go anywhere with Jr Pass West. The emplacement is between Kyoto tower and Boka-kaku Pavillion. We can use the bus and visit the city. The staff is very smiling and if you need something, they help you.

i would maybe include some earplugs and facemasks as part of their welcome kit, since this is an "open" shared room, my roomates were very loud and was very hard for me to be able to fall asleep

the staff is super friendly and always open to help, i think they live in the premises so there is always someone available. really open to give advice and info when needed, would go back to this place

Location was perfect for day trips to Nara and local trips around Kyoto. There is also a bus stop near by. The Japanese style room was very comfortable and the staff were great, particularly the lady that checked us in. There are free umbrellas to borrow.

Maybe the futons are on the hard-ish side but no bug deal, honestly.. I slept like a baby anyway.

I loved the position, sooo close to the station and just beside the amazing Higashi HonganJi. The common spaces where cosy and clean, the rooms and toilets/showers always soo clean. Staff is super friendly and nice. I had an amazing stay. I'm so happy I booked here!

My favourite hostel in Japan. The staff are amazing, especially Emiko. They truly create an inclusive sociable space for travellers to meet and feel at home. The kitchen and living room were also fantastic, truly felt like home. This is certainly one of those hostels where you could spend weeks.

Located in a tourist area, near by a big temple. Convinced shops and cafe, restaurants are all around. Slippers inside, very clean, good kitchen with all appliances to cook, big fridges, sofa, guitar, coffee, tea, good locker room, a bed is very spacious, mattress and pillow, bed sheets are good. Air con, a mirror are in the room. Light, charging space, take your adapter or Ask for at the reception. Extra charge for towels. Enough toilets and shower rooms. I even had a pleasure to take a bath on the first floor. They take care about the noise which is very important. Umbrellas also provided. Staff is super helpful and welcoming!!! Feels like a warm hug being there.
