This was the nicest accommodation of our trip. A perfect blend of modern and traditional. Very comfortable beds, well appointed kitchen- complete with snacks and drinks, awesome bathroom with soaking tub and luxury products & a supremely friendly and accommodating host. Rachel helped us navigate Kyoto, extended some grace with checkout time and called us a cab to the train station. We’re planning our return trip!

We loved everything 😊

Our stay in Kyoto was everything we hoped and more. It was removed from the city centre however still accessible to the touristy attractions via a 5 min walk to the closet bus stop. Rachel our host was absolutely amazing. So accommodating and with a wealth of information. The stay itself was very comfortable, spacious, ideal for a family stay in an authentic Japanese environment. The personal touches were a bonus from all the toiletries provided to a well stocked fridge and essential pantry goodies. Very Highly recommended. A must stay when you travel to Kyoto. Thank you so much Rachel for your generous and amazing hospitality. Will definitely return when we next come back to Japan 😁

The property’s interior is beautifully crafted and very comfortable. The homes are away from the busy crowds but not far from the main tourist attractions that Kyoto has to offer. It’s the best place that I’ve stayed at in Kyoto.

We adored this place, but if you don’t like walking / want to be in the tourist hub, it may not be for you.

We loved this place. The traditional-style accommodations are charming and have a ton of sophisticated amenities (like a soaking tub, automatic washer and dryer, etc). The location is a bit off the beaten path, but that’s part of the charm. It makes the experience more authentic and you really get to know Kyoto outside of the tourist areas. Plus, there are some great tiny restaurants nearby. Most importantly, Rachel and her staff went absolutely above and beyond to give us a memorable stay. We had a baby in tow and they provided baby food, changing accessories, toys, a baby bed, a high chair and more. This made our lives soooo much easier! She was always available to help with local tips, a taxi order, etc. We cannot recommend this spot more highly, especially for families visiting Kyoto!

There is nothing you cannot love from the place .

Amazingly well equipped, comfortable, into a very peaceful area of Kyoto but yet nearby all main spots. Stayed there for 3 nights but wished we would have taken many more days. Exceptional service from Rachel, always willing to help for whatever needs we may have .

The hotel was very lovely and is in a quiet area so you can rest assured that you will have a relaxing stay. It is also very clean and has all the amenities you will need, also complimentary drinks and foods which they will replenish for you when needed. The traditional style of the house makes you feel like you're right at home but make it Japanese ^v^ Most of all, Rachel (the host) was so lovely! She is very accomodating and friendly! She attended to all our needs and makes sure your stay is as comfortable as you want. I really, really highly recommend staying in Imakumano Terrace Hotel if you are ever going to Kyoto!!

We can't think of anything we didn't like. It really did tick all the boxes for us.

A beautifully renovated Japanese-style terrace house in a quite neighbourhood gave us a real feel for local Kyoto life. Plenty of space and a hot tub overlooking an internal courtyard. The host Rachel was amazing - she went above and beyond to make our visit to Kyoto special and most memorable. There was fresh bread, pastries, jams and a fully equipped kitchen with Nespresso machine and Illy coffee pods for breakfast.

Thank you for a wonderful stay in traditional style Japanese home. Host was very helpful & welcoming. They went above and beyond expectations when they recommended areas to visit and spent time explaining the layout of Kyoto and bus routes to take. Location was great for us with access to bus stop down the hill by the temple with a big tree. However, would recommend taxi or personal vehicle use for less mobile guests as we did have to walk up/down a moderate hill to get to guest house. Host provided some snacks/drinks and toiletries which was a nice touch. The private garden which can be viewed from bathtub was extra special during the thunderstorm that happened on our first night. Thank you!

The owner/manager of the property instantly made me feel welcomed. Rachel went over and beyond to make sure I had everything I need. The property was immaculate and had high quality finishes. The interior had exquisite Japanese charm. I felt very safe in the quiet neighborhood. and was able to use the public transportation easily from the property. Location can be a little tough because Kyotos transport isn’t as dense as Osaka or Tokyo but it was still possible to get to public transit by foot to access majority of sites. Taxis are more plentiful in Kyoto than other cities.

Would highly recommend! The space itself was beautiful, with lovely interior design elements and amenities like a deep soaking tub overlooking a little garden. The owner was very helpful and friendly, including providing local snacks + beverages in the kitchen when we arrived and calling a taxi for us at the end of our stay.

I liked so many things about this property! Where do I begin! Located in walking distance to station, which meant easy access to the many places we visited. The property was well equipped with high quality amenities and treats! Thank you Rachel for all my little vegan treats, this was so thoughtful of you! The shower was AMAZING! beds super comfy, and plenty of space. Our host Rachel was super friendly and helpful. If you are thinking about booking, and want a real traditional feel to your stay along with your home comforts- DO IT NOW! Would highly recommend!

Host welcomed us warmly, Rooms exceeded expectations by far. Service is king here! The host knows how to make a guests feel comfortable and happy. If more than 10 would be possible, the Imakumano Terrace Hotel would get it! If you want to visit in Kyoto, stay there!
