How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Unfortunately the breakfast was sold out when we wanted to book it for the next morning.
The public bath was excellent, room was very clean and spacious and the stuff kind and helpful.

The hotel was amazing and had everything for a two nigth stay in Hiroshima. The rooms was good and the hotel have a small spa. I loved the rooftop with free drinks, tee and small snacks

Helpful staff, free flow of sparkling and wine everyday in the evening. You can do express check out on your own by the TV in your room. If you walk to the back of a hotel there is a supermarket nearby where you can buy fruits and other food.

Very good value for money. Very good location, ample rooms, good breakfast, free afternoon drinks and snacks, and free soup and rice for dinner. I haven't seen this before in any hotel I've been so it's definitely a plus.

The location to Hiroshima main station was a 20 minutes walk. Not the easiest walk with luggage. Still we enjoyed our stay.
The location is near and within walking distance to major attractions, shopping streets and eating places. Room size is spacious and you have all you need for a comfortable stay. We managed to check in about an hour before 3pm which was good.

Nothing all was great
Highly recommended, location is great I could walk from the hotel to all the places I wanted to visit. The hotel is very nice as the room very big (which is rare in Japan) perfectly clean, super confortable and very quiet. The onsen is great to enjoy and relax after long day of visits. I didn’t try the breakfast and they also propose fee tea, cakes etc along the day.

Central location to a trams, restaurants and shops. Quiet room from outside and hallway. Room was clean, comfortable and had everything you needed. Plenty of amenities to be collected at front desk if needed. Small window but not a bad sized room for Japan. Coin laundry, vending machine, ice machine. Free drinks, nibbles throught the day. Friendly and welcoming staff. Luggage storage service is very helpful

I had trouble regulating the heating/cooling system. I woke in the night to stifling heat, even though the thermostat was set to 20. I used my phone to translate the controls, and finally got a little fan going. It seems that everything turns off when you leave the room and pull out your key card. You have to manually turn it back on.
The Intergate is a modern and efficient business hotel. My room was a generous size for this type of hotel, and I was very comfortable there. It is halfway between the train station and the Peace Park. It is on a tram line, and the tourist circulator bus stops nearby, so it is very easy to get around town. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and served on the topmost floor with a beautiful view.

Compared to other hotels in Japan the staff were not particularly friendly

Great hotel and very good value. Central location with tramway out front. Easy 20 minute walk to the Peace Park. A little tricky to walk from Hiroshima JR Station, taxi is best option, only Y1000. Staff are very friendly and seemingly all English speaking. Daily happy hour (3 hrs) is great with free drinks and nibbles. Sit out on the deck and enjoy the early evening. Room for two of us was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with good variety of Japanese and Western options.

The location and staff were great. Short walk to the station, castle and to the museum. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows are a little hard. Room size is good, and the bathroom is relatively large. Otherwise, great stay!
