The common area wasn't the place to socialize and make new friends. Bunk bed top was uncomfortable. Ladder and the way you were going to your bed and back was uncomfortable (for my height, 184cm)

The staff was amazing, they were very friendly, talkative, and spoke good English, suggested places to visit. The location was good, everything was nearby, subway, bus (5 min by walking), convenient store 3 min away, plenty of restaurants, shopping district was 20 min away. Common area/kitchen was small, but you can cook and eat there. But not the place to chill out or meet new people. I was staying in a 6 person dormitory room, there was a sink and shower inside the room, and the restroom was outside the room. There were lockers in the room for each person. Hostel provide towels, one big and one small. Because I was staying 4 nights, I got 2 sets without an additional fee.

Super comfy bed! Everything was clean and there was enough facilities for everyone, never had to wait to use the toilet or shower. Lady at reception was very helpful and they let us check in early which was great.

Toilets are tiny; if you are tall and oversized, it's tough to go there.

The beds are very comfortable. And the receptionist, the Mexican girl, is very kind and professional. I like this hostel.

The property was perfect for my needs. It was in a great location, really close to a lot of the places I wanted to visit in Kyoto. The staff were very kind, and extremely helpful. The bathroom was great, it had both a shower and a bath. There is a restaurant on site in the evening. And they allowed me to leave my luggage there, after I had checked out, which was a great help. I was able to check in earlier too.

Charging my son and I 6.000 yen ($60) because we were late arriving when the plane was late and 1.5hours to get through immigration, I sent them 3 messages explaining what was happening, they said they received them but didn’t answer any of them. Charging that on top of the bed tax was a bit of a rip off. First time I have ever had to pay for a toothbrush and paste as well.

Location was good, young girl on the front desk was wonderful. All staff friendly and helpful. For a hostel it was quiet and respectful, plenty of young travellers but not noisy.

The walls are really thin so you can hear the other rooms quite well. The private rooms are way smaller than they make it seem on the pictures so be aware of that.

Being a hostel it lacked the right vibe of a hostel. I found it a bit over priced as hostels in big cities are cheaper than this.

I worked in the lounge on the first floor, but I had to be careful because the Wi-Fi was interrupted when the microwave used. The room was a private room with a double bed, and although it was large enough, I could work on my laptop with a small table and chair.

The location is very good as you can walk to Shijo Karasuma. The hostel as a whole is very clean as it is cleaned every day. You can dry your laundry on the rooftop, so there is no need to use a dryer, depending on the season. It was sunny (but I might stay in my room)

The toilets in the second floor and above are so tiny and cramped! My knees are touching the walls and anyone who is tall would need to go down the first floor which has the only single spacious toilet with legroom. As for the bunk beds, I suggest go for the bottom. The ladders for the top are so narrow and small that it is a struggle to climb. Also it is so close to the ceiling and the exhaust/intake vent was just above me and made a loud noise.

Very near to Shijo Station (and walkable to from/to Kyoto Sta. about 20-25min as well). A lot of great nearby cafes and restaurants that are not overpriced and good value for money. Convenience stores are also nearby.

The beds are only covered by curtains, so the snoring of the other roommates is unfortunately very loud. The bathroom is directly adjacent to the room, so it is not really advisable to shower late at night, as one would disturb the roommates. The locker was quite small, my backpack didn’t fit in it.

Very kind lady at the reception spoke great English. The bed was very comfortable. The shared spaces are very nice. Everything was clean.
