Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ChinaThe bathroom is too small. I could hardly spread my legs while I was at the toilet.
You could see the beautiful sightseeing of fuji mt. As the window is straightly facing to the mountain. The store is next door but for some decent restaurants, we had to walk a journey.

The view to Mount Fuji!!! It is located very near the natural living center, you can walk there when all the tourists leave. At the same time, it is a very peaceful and silent place to stay. We liked the Japanese style of the rooms

United KingdomRoom was booked last minute so we got the ground floor, therefore no direct view of Mt Fuji like in the pictures. I think if I was on the upper floor I would have got a better view. Don't bring too much luggage is my recommendation. Bus starts at 9:30am and not before so planning is needed. All the shops close early, so wrap up by 4:00pm
It was still the best view of Mt Fuji and so convenient from the place. We went out in our pyjamas with a cuppa coffee to see the mountain early in the morning and it was fantastic. The day we arrived it was really bad weather, so didn't even think we could see it, but at night the clouds cleared and Mt Fuji was there in all it's glory - recommend seeing at night and in the morning. We were lucky to get this place at such an affordable price it was incredible. We got a chance to stay in a Ryokan setup. The place was clean, the host was amiable, smoking place outside. Quick walk to the main bus terminal and other bus stop is 3mins away.

JapanUnfortunately, the WiFi didn’t work for us. As some people mentioned already, there is no restaurant open in the evening (not even at 7pm and even though Google maps says something different) and the Konbini closes at 8pm. However, if you like hiking this is a great location to start from!
The room was very clean and with a beautiful view on Mount Fuji! Although it was very cold outside during the night, the room had a comfortable temperature and we slept very well (the mats to put on the tatami floor were also quite spacious). Also the sitting area in front of the window was beautiful! There was green tea available and we were able to rent bikes for free. Since we arrived too early for the check in, the owner kindly let us leave our backpacks and already rent the bikes (same thing after checkout). His English was good, too.

IndonesiaThere is basically nothing you can do at night. This is because the property is quite far from the center, bus stopped operating and bicycles are the only option unless you have a car. There are also no restaurants nearby that open at night and the convenience store next to the place closes at 8 pm, so better to plan your dinner ahead of time. Also, there are no elevators so we have to carry our baggage (with the owner's help) upstairs. Additionally, remember to contact the property regarding your estimated check-in time beforehand. If not, then you have to wait for quite some time for the owner to come. Nevertheless, its a good place to just chill.
The location is perfect for those who like quiet places. It is extremely close to Oishi Park and we can directly see Mt. Fuji from the terrace on the third floor. The owner is friendly and helpful, even offering to help bring our big-size baggage up. The room is quite spacious for the three of us plus our baggage.

United KingdomTowels were a bit stained and there was a foisty smell in the room, would be great to have an air fresher or diffuser.
Amazing view of Mt Fuji! Nice, quiet location - you can use the free bikes from the hotel and bike all around the lake which was wonderful. You can also bike into Kawaguchiko town in about 30mins for food. Good sized room with strong air con which was needed in the summer heat. You can get a bus from the main station in Kawaguchiko and it stops just a few metres away from the hotel.

JapanThe futons were very thin/flat and we had to search around a bit to find the third comforter in a closet. The bathroom was small (toilet/sink/shower/bath in a small unit room) with an unruly shower if you aren't careful, but thankfully it is the kind of bathroom that is okay to get completely wet. I mentioned the host was friendly and offered simple information if asked, but he didn't offer up anything more than smiles and simple answers to our questions. This could be a positive or negative depending on your preferences. If you prefer a host who is forthcoming with tidbits of information about the area and tips or interested in knowing their guests a bit, this is not the host for you.
The room was clean and the premises quiet. Pillows were great (2/person!) and all bedding (except one comforter) was piled neatly in the corner for us to lay out when we were ready. Private bathroom! You could see Mount Fuji and the lake out of the window to the side of an abandoned/condemned building. Free bikes were a bonus, but they are very small and a little strange to ride at first. If you go across the street to the left of the abandoned building, you get to a path with a lovely garden that loops around the lake to the left. It goes for a bit to the right too, but not too far. A Daily Yamazaki convenience store is directly to the left of the building. Free parking! The host friendly and would give simple information when asked - if you like your hosts to not want to chat and leave you be, this is the host for you! Lastly, the price point was just what we needed.
