Location was fantastic for my needs. Right on the main street and not far from transport. Door is a little fun to find, but you're right in the middle of everything.

Shower/toilet room was quite small. There were large windows to the busy street but you cannot see through them (they are kinda non-see-through glass).

Great location if you want to see Gion area. Nearest train station is just around the corner. Clean and quite ok room with king-size bed. Check-out time 11am was slightly better than in many other hotels.

The room door is quite low, and the bathroom is tiny as well. It may not be suitable for tall guys.

Best location ever with reasonable price. Right on the major street of Kyoto, it's easy to access the most famous attraction like Gion, nishiki market, pontocho. Need a cup of coffee? Starbucks is right down floor.

Bad wifi connection, musty smells, there was no hand soap only body wash which was broken.

Bed was uncomfortable, did ask room service if thet would add extra under padding which did agree to do but it didn't happen. Decore was tired. As with all other hotel bathrooms, there was no shelving/bench space for putting things on.

the smell of cigarette in the room, it was sooo strong. to be fair, we didn’t report this to the front desk and encountered the same situation in Osaka at a different hotel, seems to be common in Japan

too small, smoking between rooms were not done well because whole hallway was also.smoking. no view from room, pillow very hard, not comfortable. tv was all japanesd e shows, no foreigner tv.

Great location that is a short walk to everything you need and easy for public transport and taxis. Super helpful staff. In an area full of great restaurants. Starbucks downstairs if you need a coffee fix

I originally booked 5 nights, but no air conditioning in the 2nd night (only heater), I requested cancellation for the afterwards 3 night, the staff is very nice, they understand the ageing of the facility and refunds the three nights.

Remember that the hotel is located in the busy district - of course, it could be noisy sometimes, depends where your room is, for us it wasn't a big problem, but for someone could be.

The location of the hotel is great: close to the shopping area and tourist attractions, easy reachable by bus from the Kyoto Railway station. Fast check-in and check-out, helpful staff. Good place for short time stay in Kyoto.

I didn’t really notice it being a completely smoking hotel, I feel that wasn’t really mentioned in the description so be ready for all corridors and your own room to smell. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I’ve slept on in any country and the showering space felt like a prison space, I know bathroom amenities here are small but this one made all previous Japanese bathrooms feel like a place. My knees were completely slammed against the door whenever on the toilet it was quite uncomfortable.

Staff were helpful, location is good for getting around most of Kyoto with ease.

Horrible, hard bed, room not well cleaned, couldn't sleep, tiny old rooms, no where to put your suitcase or clothes, bathroom are like the one in campervans (tiny cubicles have to be flexible to fit in the bath), awful view of a wall, won't come back even if it's free. Should be a backpacker not a hotel.

It’s a relatively older hotel - so the amenities are older and the room layout is also very old. There’s some mold along the walls of the bath… just speaks to the age of the building.

Location - right on the heart of Kyoto where the busy activities take place. But it is a little far from Kyoto station - with luggage I took the taxi there instead. Staff are SO friendly and fully conversational in English! They were also very helpful. Size is not bad too - good size compared to chain hotels in Japan.
