I'm joining the people who loved this place. Setting, onsen, accommodation, lounge area, staff members - everything is excellent... It's wonderful value for money. Everything of my stay there was great.

Room service/cleaning of room never happened even though we stayed 3 nights.

Good facilities and cleanliness. Onsen temperature was perfect, recommended to leverage it every night. Laundry and pantry were very decent.

The place is like a retreat. It has a huge common kitchen, spacious lounge surrounded by nature, and an outdoor terrace. There is a big supermarket nearby. The attractions are convenient to reach. Indoor and outdoor onsen pools for men and women separately. I had a great time staying there.

I was not expecting it to be so far away from the old part of Nikko and Chuzenji (2-3 hours by local train & bus). Also would have loved privacy curtains in the dorms.

Very relaxing, spacious, clean environment with friendly and helpful staff that speaks excellent English. The onsen is amazing and I somehow always had it all for myself.

Spotless. Never seen such a well equipped hostel. They have everything you can think off. Maybe a few board game could be added but that's just a suggestion because it is already perfect. Staff is amazing. Loved the onsen which was just the cherry on top About location is it not the most central and I wasn't aware that it was located 1h30 away (2 trains and 1 bus) from main attractions in Nikko (shrine, waterfall) but still it was worth it.

It really is far from lots of the things to do in Nikko. Some of the buses are quite hard to navigate Not particularly social when I was there - luck of the draw. Staff don’t do anything to enable socialising - potential area for improvement?

Nothing bad to say honestly, other than that the nearest train does not run super often. This is to be expected when out of the city however, so I consider this normal considering the location.

The location is beautiful, right on the corner of a gorge where you can see the river at the bottom. There are trees everywhere and the onsen is pristine. The kitchen area is huge and immaculate, plus the bed in the dorms are comfy and there is tons of space to put your things. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and spoke English very well too!

Strange area, I didn’t find a huge amount to do/see nearby. There is a lovely walk along a gorge but it’s a train ride away (or 60 minute walk along a quite busy road away to get to the start). It’s a long way from the Toshogu shrine (2 trains). The local town is Kinugawa Onsen. Very pleasant but quiet provincial town. Would be great in a car as then sites etc would be more accessible.

The Onsen hot baths were great - indoors and outdoor options. Rooms large and quiet, staff helpful, lovely chilled common space. There was a small traditional bar/restaurant five minute walk away run by an old couple. No English but food was good and e we all muddled along

I loved my stay here (also extended). Such a nice and quiet location, friendly staff, cosy living area to hang out or eat! Easy to reach Nikko for day trips to sightsee or hike. When you get back you can spend some time in the relaxing onsen. Would recommend!!

When my husband and son went to the mens outdoor onsen, they found a human poo at the bottom. When they told the staff, the staff said they couldn't do anything about it. That stopped them from going again the following day.

The dining area/sofa area was very pleasant, the kitchen was well equipped. The ladies onsen was also a great addition with a view of the hills. The room was very clean.

Beautiful onsen with indoor/outdoor seperate male/female facilities, a lounge that makes you feel like you’re in the trees, kitchen and laundry facilities. We had a double and a family Japanese style room all were clean and functional. Some confusion initially about my 4 year old who was only free if she shared a bed. There is a supermarket lion dior a 600m walk, that has a good range of groceries

It was quite far from the station and there were also no convenience stores close. I also never like when I have to do the bedding myself.

The lounge here was amazing and would definitely be a great stay when traveling with friends. Even though I was alone it made it still very comfortable to stay.

Loved everything about this place. It was the perfect place to just take it slow for a couple days. The onsens were just so peaceful and beautiful and I hate it all to myself. The kitchen is amazingly equipped with everything you need and is always spotlessly clean. The common hang out area is just beautiful, comfortable and an amazing view. Beds were super comfy and warm. Staff were wonderful and so friendly.

I spent one night in the 8-bed dorm and in short I can say: if in the past I rated some few accommodations with 10/10, then I should give at least 15/10 to K's House Nikko. The greatest value for your money is here.
