Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United StatesSpace is fairly tight so get the higher rated rooms if that’s important for you to have the extra space. We were rarely in the room so it was fine.
Overall, great location for food locations and to the shops. Everything is walkable half a block from a laundry spot in case you need to do a load or two. Rooms were clean, shower and bathroom were great too. If you’re needy or require reception help constantly stay away this isn’t for you because you won’t see someone until 1p - 10p for any questions.

United StatesYou have to download an app and upload all your passport details simply to check in - this is an app that can only be used for this hotel, making it tedious and inefficient. The rooms are supposed to be cleaned every three nights, but we stayed for 4 nights and our room was not cleaned (we did not put the yellow sticker on the door asking for it not to be cleaned). Bins are small in the room, which means that garbage starts to pile up, especially with infrequent cleaning. Finally, there is no concierge in the hotel - everything needs to be done through the partner hotel (that is only one minute down the street).
Well located hotel, newly opened. Very responsive when messaging.

Check in difficult, download an app, upload passport! , then still no check in code on arrival. Had to wait for very pleasant and respectful staff member to help check us in. Cumbersome, needs streamlining.then even with the code we couldn't work put how to activate the door lock so we could use the key pad, could have been illustrated in the code email.
Great location, quiet area but close to Gion and night-life if you want. Lovely new and clean hotel with friendly staff. Great shower

GermanyI would have given this hotel a 10/10 points if the check-in procedure hadn't been quite awkward and time-consuming due to a kind of "over-digitalization". I was required to install a dedicated app (which had some deficencies like lack of copy-paste) to check in, then requested to up-load my passport and a selfie to an unknown institution (for me a data-security no-go). At the end the kind staff people helped out and did a conventional check-in. It took almost 1 hour for somethink that conventionally gets done in 3 min.
This is a brand-new hotel with very nice rooms, confortably equipped, all you need and could expect. The staff is is outstandingly kind and helpful, quite international - English conversation is no problem. The location is perfectly situated in the center of Kyoto - with a bike you get to most of the attractions of Kyoto within 15 min. E-scooters available at the door. The sister hotel (100m distance) offers a nice bar with good breakfast and the best coffee I have had in 2 weeks of travelling Japan.

JapanI had to scan my passport, despite residing in Japan, but the staff said it shouldn't have. That said, it was really nice to NOT have to stop by a front desk and talk with someone face to face.
I booked for the bathtub, and it was quite nice! (Just not as comfortable as I'd hoped for reading in the bath though. I watched a movie from bed using the hdmi port on my computer, so it was still pretty great. The TV arm stretches pretty far.) I normally bring a sleep mask because I'm super sensitive to light (I forgot it ><), but the blackout blinds worked really well. The amenities were good, with extras in the hallways if you needed more. I noticed people chatting and eating in the lounge area, but I didn't eat in. Looks like there is a kitchen you could rent out, but it wasn't available yet.

Really nice hotel with spacious rooms. The rooms were super clean and the hotel was modern. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The hotel is in a great location and just over a 5 min walk from a subway station. Although we didn’t use them, the hotel has large kitchen facilities that looked modern and spotlessly clean.

Over digitalization… although they forced they app for check-in but we did not receive room key code via app even after check-in time. Emailed for room key code. App was not working during 7!days of stay to book kitchen. We could not sleep two nights during our 7 night of stay because of very thick and warm bed blanket. Asked via phone for lighter blanket and they totally disregarded a basic hotel request like this. Outsiders can literally walk in the property up to your door step! Digital door locker was not operating by touch or any other action as they said in the app. Sometimes it was taking almost a minute to get the touch screen working! Imagine if you wanna pee!!! Room service once in 4 days! We had one cleaning time and it was not done properly at all. No safe deposit box and pajamas in the room although said in the room details. Also quite distant to shops and subway

United KingdomThis was all done electronically ie there was nobody there at check in and this was completed online. This was difficult as it relied on you having wifi and as we were travelling, this was hard. Also, the room code was not given out until the day we arrived and we had no wifi that day to receive it. On the day we left, there was nobody there to help with leaving our bags for the day or anyone to help for getting a doctor when we needed it or just to answer any questions or queries. I know there was a sister hotel close by but we only dicovered this by chance. I will never use this system again as I do not wish to have to download an app and do the check in myself. I found it stressful andunpersonable.
This was a brand new hotel and was lovely in it's decor and the kitchen, dining room and shared spaces. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable

SlovakiaOnline check-in did not work. After 40 minutes, we received an access code for our room that did not work either. There was no staff at all, nobody who could help us. They only provided a phone number which was not helpful since we did not have a SIM card suitable for phone calls. We were lucky that we met other guests who helped us and directed us to the main Kabin hotel nearby. Moreover, we were charged an extra 2000 yen as a local tax even though the description in the booking app said all taxes are included. The kitchen in the hotel couldn't be used. There is still a lot of work that needs to be done at the hotel.

AustraliaI might have missed it but I didn’t know it was self checkin until the same day. Luckily I had some time on the train to download the Kabin app which was needed and go through the process which was straightforward. Think more of a heads up would be welcome.
The self checkin was easy and stressfree, walked straight in which was great after a long trip. The room itself was spacious enough with a very comfortable king size bed. Access to all the facilities at Kabin Kyoto was a bonus - particularly the laundries! Great bar there as well.
