Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainThe gardens in the picture are not for swimming and top spa was shared (by hours) between men and women. Either way you could always access a bath, so no big deal.
The service was extremely good and there was free wine and beer included

PortugalNothing. Everything was perfect!
Our outdoor private onsen with the view of Mt. Fuji was amazing. The service was excellent. Food was delicious. We really enjoyed our half board meals, including the access to the club lounge and wine lounge. The Taiko drum show was cool. We had a perfect stay with the best unobstructed view of Mt. Fuji from our room. The hotel really exceeded our expectations.

United StatesAs soon as we arrived to the hotel we were welcomed with the upmost respect and hospitality. Everything from the room to the lounge was beautiful and clean. The drum show was an amazing experience and the bingo game that follows was a great way to spend the night alongside our fellow guests. Woke up to a breathtaking view of Mt. Fuji as well. Could not recommend this place more.

United StatesI really wish they would allow guests with tattoos to use the onsen. It was hard to miss out on that part of the experience, knowing everything else was excellent. Their room booklet said that private baths were available for 60 minute rentals, but that was not true.
Top tier service, truly world class. Beautiful grounds, and the best Japanese food I had ever had. The view of Mt Fuji was breathtaking. Best stay of our vacation!

Great hospitality from the hotel staff from checking in, arranging shuttle service and toir booking. I chose half boarding and the breakfast and dinner provided was of excellent quality. Great options for breakfast. Tasty and amazing dinner with great food presentation and fresh local ingredients. Love the drum performance at night. It is energetic and engaging. We also enjoy the free access to wine lounge with nice snacks. Not to forget the beautiful landscaped garden, tea house, roof top hot spring experience with Mount Fuji view and also the open bath at basement with beautiful outdoor pool in addition to indoor pool and sauna. A great place to unwind, relax and recharge.

United KingdomIt's a 12 minute walk from the bus stop (when coming via Mt Fuji train station) which was horrid in the rain. You can call for the hotel shuttle bus to collect you but only once you arrive at the station, and it cannot be pre-booked (we couldn't call as had no international service). The biggest negative for us was that we had requested a vegetarian dinner, rather than the standard option which uses fish/meat, and neither of us enjoyed it (so much so that we cancelled the meal for our second night).
We had a brilliant stay here - the hospitality was incredible, the room was huge, there was a massage chair in the room, and a private onsen on our balcony. Initially it was too cloudy and rainy to see much but, on our last morning, the weather cleared up and the view of Mt Fuji was spectacular. The hotel has great vibes, lots of photo spots (Japanese gardens, the decor inside, free yukata loan), a tea ceremony, a big gift shop, a wine bar with some free snacks and drinks, a drum show, a piano bar...it's really something else. Definitely somewhere to spend a bit of time and not just to use as a base.

AustraliaTheir shuttle bus services and the unclear instructions from the front staff. They did not explain the process to call a shuttle bus to return to the hotel. We were waiting for a long time at the station due to wrong information provided by the driver. The most disappointment was there was no lunch available even you wish to buy lunch. The kitchen was close during lunch time. Unfortunately the front desk did not explain and alert us about it.
The private onsen in our room., excellent with Mt Fuji view. The kaiseki dinner was amazing

Everything in this hotel is top notch. Amazing displays of flowers & and interior. I love the garden and the tea house where you could enjoy a complimentary matcha and some sweets. Dinner was great. We dined in a private room and enjoyed it a lot. The Taiko performance and bingo game was a lot of fun too. We closed our day with one or two glasses of wine in the lounge and enjoyed a quality time there. Please make sure to visit the outdoor onsen at the top floor-- in a good weather, Mt. Fuji will impress you with a breathtaking view.
